Louisa's POV
The fire spreading all over my body dimmed.
I stared at Derek and walked closer to him.
He looked panicked and desperate at the same time.
"What's the matter with you?! Where's the fire?! I have just killed your friend! Why don't you kill me with that fire of yours?!" He barked at me like a mad dog.
I didn't say anything but kept stepping closer to him.
"Come on! Hit me with a fireball or something! Hit here!" Derek pointed at the empty void in his left chest and said. "Don't you want revenge on behalf of your friend?"
I stood right in front of him. Still, I didn't say anything.
In despair, he grabbed my arm and said, "Come on! Hit me!"
"Where is Darren," I said. "Take me to see him."
"You'll never see my brother again..." He said with a sadistic grin.
Before he could finish his sentence, I strangled his neck.
He didn't protest or struggle. Instead, he kept smirking at me.
I didn't know where I got the strength, but I pushed him all the way back against the wall and shouted, "Give Darren back to me!"
"He's not your... property... He's my... brother..." Derek gasped in a broken voice.
"Where is he?!" I shouted and pressed his neck even harder.
My hands were still burning hot. I could hear the sizzling sound when my hands touched his neck, with a burning smell and white smoke coming out.
But it seemed that Derek didn't feel the pain at all. He looked at me with an almost tranquilized look in his eyes and asked me with air keeps coming out of his mouth, "Why... do... you... want to see Darren?"
"He's my friend and you are not allowed to hurt him anymore!" I shouted.
White foam started to get out of Derek's mouth. His eyes were bulging as if they were about to pop out of his eye sockets.
Someone pulled my arms. I looked up and saw it was Colt.
He must have been freed by Alex.
"Louisa, you can't kill him," Colt said with tears coming out of his eyes. "He's the only one who knows where Darren is."
I clenched my jaw and eventually let go of Derek.
As soon as he regained his breath, Derek grabbed my hands and put them on his neck.
"Kill me... Kill me right now and end all this!" he pleaded. "Don't you want revenge? Your little friend was killed by me in front of your eyes! Don't be such a coward! Kill me!"
"If I kill you, I'll become a murderer just like you," I said in a calm voice.
Derek looked at me with eyes wide open.
I suddenly pulled off the sleeves of his shirt and saw the rotting wounds spreading through his arms.
I said, "You've tried to kill yourself so many times, but you couldn't. That's why you want me to use witch's Element Fire to reduce you to ashes."
His pupils dilated. He desperately wanted to cover the wounds on his arms, but there were just too many of them.
"I will not let you have what you want. You will live as a walking dead for the rest of your life. You're a dead corpse right now and you'll continue to be a dead corpse like this until the last breath leaves your chest."
"Shut up! Shut up!" Derek's eyes turned red. It seemed that something within him was smoldering him like an unwholesome fire.
"How does it feel?" I asked.
"Stop talking!" Anger welled up in him like lava.
"You can't feel anything. No pain. No shame. No love. No hatred. All your senses are deprived. You will slowly lose your arms, legs, and eventually your torso. That's what I want..." I said.
Then, I threw his hand away and moved away from him, "You can rip out your heart and stay away from the physical torture of imprint, but it doesn't mean that you can wipe off the persistent mental agony in your head. I want you to witness your own decay, knowing that you can't do anything about it. So every single second in the rest of your life, you will be tortured with unparalleled infliction."
"Ahhhhh!" Derek screamed and charged at me, but he fell to the floor with his legs bending awkwardly at an abnormal angle.
Derek didn't give up. He crawled at me on the floor like a giant cockroach with a human head.
Part of his leg was left on the floor, but he didn't seem to notice.
It was the most disturbing sign that I had ever seen in my life.
I stepped back and Colt held me in his arms.
He lifted his leg and wanted to kick Derek's head, but I pulled him back.
Derek crawled in front of me and grabbed my legs.
He lifted his head so high up to look at him that his spine must have been broken.
"Louisa..." Derek had slimy black body fluid coming out of his purple chapped lips. His voice was desperate and hopeless.
I knew he was begging me with the last strength in his life.
I lowered my head and stared at him. Then, I asked in a cold voice, "Where is Darren?"
"If I tell you where he is... Will you... end my life?" He asked with watery eyes.
"No," I said. "But I will find a way to treat your broken leg and the wounds on your body."
"Louisa..." He lowered his head and said. "Darren has told me everything about you... He said you were the kindest... and nicest person that he had ever seen in his life. I didn't believe him. I didn't believe a werewolf could be so merciful... I was wrong..."
Then, he lifted his head up and said, "Go to Dimgrave Port... It's at the tip of the Burming Penusuala... There's an abandoned warehouse. My brother is there... The vampires are there as well..."
"OK. We're on our way right now," I said.
"Wait..." Derek said. Then, he took a glance at Mata, who was sobbing and mourning while holding Mana's body, and said, "There's one more thing I can help you with..."
