Ever since he started fighting to realize his dreams, Nate hasn’t been as carefree and bold as he used to be.The original Angel was a mercenary group, and the best mercenary group at that. Making money was as easy as playing a game. Everyone in Angel was filthy rich, each one of them was a boss.
Now Angel is different. First of all, they’re no longer the free-roaming, elusive mercenary group, but the hidden BOSS of a large armed force, which means Angel can’t go off making money, and can’t be as mysterious as before, they’re restricted to the territory of Donetsk in Ukraine.
Furthermore, Angel is quite lacking in money because their purpose in coming to Ukraine was not to make money, but to fulfill their ideals. So not only have they not made any money, they’ve spent all of it, and now everyone in Angel is broke.
To this day, Nate still owes Gao Yang a huge sum, so how could he act tough in front of Gao Yang?
Feeling sympathy for Nate’s current predicament, Gao Yang sighed and said to Nate, "My business here is to find artillerymen."
Nate calmly replied, "There are plenty of artillerymen, you can find them anywhere, just like you said."
Gao Yang spread his hands and said, "I am pressed for time, that’s why I’m looking for you, and you’re in Ukraine, it’s a great place to find soldiers of various technical types. Buddy, I can’t keep running back here."
Nate shook his head: "I don’t have any extra people to give you. First of all, my soldiers voluntarily joined the fight to defend their homeland, I can’t send out soldiers with noble sentiments because they don’t need me to pay them to fight. Secondly, the experienced and highly skilled technical personnel are our core members, I can’t willingly weaken my combat strength. You should understand, artillery plays a decisive role in Ukraine’s civil war."
Gao Yang spread his hands again and said, "Let’s stop testing each other, name your terms."
"I have no terms. You can’t take any person from my hands, but I can help you recruit people from other armed groups. Actually, I think you’re looking in the wrong place. The artillerymen of the Western-Ukraine Army are most suitable for you. You can recruit people from our prisoners or even go to the Government Forces and recruit an entire battalion if you pay enough. I think you can easily set up an artillery company with no problem."
Gao Yang looked annoyed and said, "No, many of the artillerymen in the Western-Ukraine Army speak Ukrainian, I need soldiers who speak Russian. Most importantly, I need absolute confidentiality, the more people, the harder to control and prevent leaks. So I don’t need a large number of artillerymen, I need artillerymen who can be worth three."
Nate remained impassive, forcing Gao Yang to lay it all out. He spread his hands and said, "Truly elite, experienced, capable of maintaining maximum confidentiality, and most important to find quickly. I can only find these with you, buddy, you have to help me out. You know my place is at a crucial stage, I can’t waste too much time reorganizing an artillery company."
Nate grabbed the coffee pot and poured himself more than half a cup of coffee, then suddenly spoke while adding sugar: "I’ll give you some high-end talents."
"What high-end talents?"
Seeing Gao Yang’s curiosity, Nate smiled and slowly said, "Missile Troopers!"
Gao Yang was astonished and asked, "Missile Troopers?"
"Surface-to-surface missiles, from commanders to calculator soldiers to operators, entirely staffed."
Gao Yang frowned and said, "You’re talking about those technical personnel for launching ground-to-ground tactical missiles, but what do I need them for? Tactical missiles, buddy, do you think that’s something I can have? The consequences of using this stuff, F**k, buddy I’m not crazy!"
Nate smiled slightly and said, "We have prisoners, and there’s proactive militia coming over, but I don’t have ground-to-ground missiles, just like you said, even if I did, I wouldn’t use them. As for you, it’s not difficult for you to get ground-to-ground missiles, right? I’m willing to provide personnel, whether you use them or not is your issue, but artillerymen, you won’t take a single one from me."
Actually, Yemen does have tactical ground-to-ground missiles. Yemen has Frog-7 and Scud missiles, and after being captured by the Houthis Armed Forces, naturally, they became Houthis’ missiles.
Firstly, the name Scud isn’t a specific model of a ground-to-ground missile but can refer to many types of ground-to-ground missiles. However, all of Yemen’s Scuds are precisely the authentic first model called Scud, or the R-300 as named by the Soviet Union, with a maximum range of 300 kilometers and a warhead weighing a ton.
The Houthis Armed Forces have ground-to-ground missiles, Gao Yang knows that, but he also knows Houthis can’t use these missiles. The Iranians can use them, but Iran doesn’t seem inclined to send Missile Troopers to participate because that would escalate the war.
Will Satan himself dare to find people to use these missiles? Gao Yang is weighing this issue.
Now with the Houthis Armed Forces and Iran taking the blame, and finally Russia as the ultimate scapegoat, even if the missiles are used, the responsibility doesn’t fall on Satan. What’s more, even if it were said, who’d believe it?
The key question is whether the ground-to-ground missiles stored in Yemen can still be used, although this is not too much of a concern. Grand Ivan has plenty of tactical ground-to-ground missiles, so the real issue isn’t the missiles but the people to launch them.
After pondering for a moment, Gao Yang pointed at Nate and then whispered, "This thing, it’s limited to you and me knowing."
Nate smiled and replied, "Of course."
"Are the people reliable?"
"Reliability depends on how you use them. If you offer high wages to hire them to fight, it will certainly move many hearts, considering Ukrainians have been quite poor in recent years. If you can ensure their families will immigrate safely, then I think you can persuade most to leave with you."
Gao Yang mused for a moment and then rubbed his palm and said, "Or perhaps there’s another approach, which requires your cooperation."
"Tell me."
"I’ll pretend to be a KGB officer, recruiting a group of volunteers to go to Yemen. I’ll still pay, and after the war, guarantee their families are sent to a safe country, and they may also serve Russia. So even if in the future they don’t keep their mouths shut, it’s Russia that bears the consequences of the leak, and Russia doesn’t care. I think this works well."
Nate gave Gao Yang a meaningful look, then said, "Will they believe you’re KGB when they get to Yemen?"
Gao Yang smiled and said, "They’ll believe it, they’ll firmly believe they’re serving Russia without a doubt."
Nate raised his coffee and drank it down, then said solemnly, "Finish your coffee, and I’ll take you to find people."
