You dragged me in here for no reason, then started spouting nonsense at Hao Jian. Now that I want to leave, you won't let me go. Fine, I'll annoy you to death. Seeing the anger on He Yingzi's face made him happy, and he became even more brazen. However, everything has a limit. He knew if he crossed that line, He Yingzi might actually pick up a knife and chop him. So, knowing the limit, he stopped what he was doing and just looked at her, his face full of smiles, while hers was full of rage.

This man was truly impolite. First, he spoke rudely, and now he did something just as rude. She could hardly tolerate it any longer.

Yet, just a second before she was about to speak, Hao Jian gave a smile and instinctively glanced at a certain part of her body. They were very close at this moment, and he was about a head taller than her. By lowering his head, he could see those indescribable, white, jade-like 'rabbits'.

He clicked his tongue twice and said, "Too small."

Right after that, in the midst of He Yingzi's dumbfounded expression, he let go, her legs instantly lost their support, and she fell to the ground, completely out of control.

"Ah!" She cried out in pain.

However, at that moment, Hao Jian immediately walked away. He left without a glance after letting go, swinging his arms casually. He Yingzi climbed up from the ground, her whole body aching from the fall, but when she got up to chase after Hao Jian, she found he was nowhere to be seen; he had completely disappeared.

Surprise flashed across her face. Her falling and climbing back up had taken only a few moments, hardly any time at all. But when she came out, he was gone. She was shocked; how could someone disappear so quickly?

She started recalling Hao Jian's skills and was a bit amazed. She hadn't expected him to be able to spar with her, and she had a strong feeling that his skills far surpassed hers. If he were to really engage, she might not be able to handle a few moves from him.

So, she became a bit curious about who this person was, someone with such strength. But before she could ponder further, Hao Jian was already gone. She nearly punched out of frustration but managed to hold her temper. She thought that if she met him next time, she'd have to properly punish him.

Hao Jian ran out of the detention center in one breath and only stopped after running far away. He really didn't want to keep quarreling with that madwoman; if they continued, it would only waste more time. Having already spent so much time, his mood was quite bad, and he thought it was best to leave quickly.

After leaving the detention center, he took a cab to the market, grabbed the keys, got into Liang Yuwei's car, and drove home. Within a few minutes, he parked in the residential parking area, took vegetables out of the car trunk, and headed upstairs.

As he was about to unlock the door, it suddenly opened, revealing Liang Xiaohan with a sullen look on her face.

"Why are you only getting back now?" Liang Xiaohan asked.

Hao Jian knew they must have been waiting for him impatiently. The moment they heard the key in the lock, they got up to open the door. Hearing Liang Xiaohan's question, he didn't know how to respond immediately. He walked in with the groceries and, under Liang Xiaohan's angry gaze, put the vegetables in the kitchen and then sat on the sofa in the living room.

Just as he sat down, he saw Liang Yuwei's complaining look. He had clearly said he was going to buy groceries, but it took him two or three hours. The two of them had been waiting at home for him to return so they could eat, and they had been hungry for two or three hours. Now that he was back, of course, they were a bit upset. Hao Jian understood.

But before he could settle down, he heard Liang Yuwei with a complaining tone say, "You still remember to come back? I thought you weren't coming anymore."

Hearing this, Hao Jian quickly put on a wronged expression and said, "Ah! I have my reasons."

"Reasons?" Liang Yuwei looked unconvinced.

Hao Jian knew it was useless to say too much, so he might as well sit down and explain the whole situation to resolve the issue. He put on a wronged face, sat down, poured a glass of water, took a sip to calm his nerves, and prepared to speak.

Liang Yuwei and Liang Xiaohan, seeing he had something to say, didn't interrupt but sat down, ready to listen to Hao Jian's explanation. They wanted to know why, without any apparent reason, he had made them wait two or three hours until their stomachs were growling with hunger.

At this time, Hao Jian took a sip of water and narrated the entire incident in an orderly manner, from going out to buy groceries, buying the vegetables at the market, how he acted heroically, to being mistaken for an accomplice of a thief by the aggressive policewoman and taken to the police station. Finally, he recounted returning home after everything was resolved.

Of course, he omitted how he punished He Yingzi in the end; if he were to recount it all in detail, Liang Yuwei might just kill him. He dared not mention it. He just said he gave the policewoman a piece of his mind before glossing over the rest. To prevent Liang Yuwei from overthinking, he even refrained from mentioning He Yingzi's name, referring to her as just the policewoman.

"Alright, that's what happened to me just now; it's not that I didn't want to come back early, but I was helpless. I was doing a good deed and didn't expect such a thing to happen," Hao Jian sighed and said, "Had I known, I wouldn't have done the good deed, and nothing would have happened."

Hearing this, Xiaohai was infuriated and, remembering that her cousin was also a police officer, nudged her cousin, saying, "Cousin, look how rude this person is! They acted without understanding the situation. Don't you know someone at Yun City Police Department? Go and teach her a lesson."

Sure enough, Liang Yuwei was also angry after hearing this. She initially wondered why Hao Jian had been gone for so long and didn't expect such a mess. Though annoyed, she was calmer than Xiaohai, who was irrationally furious.

She glanced at Xiaohai, signaling her to calm down, and then turned to Hao Jian, saying, "Alright, we've heard the whole story. It's not your fault, so let's forget about it. Hurry up and cook. I'm starving."

Initially, Xiaohai was still angry, but reminded of her hunger, she said, "Right, right, it's almost two o'clock, and I haven't eaten yet. I'm starving."

Hao Jian laughed, relieved that they were no longer pursuing the matter, which meant it was over. He quickly got up and said with a smile, "Alright, alright, I'll go cook now."

He got up, tidied up the groceries he bought, and started cooking. Familiar with the process, he began cooking earnestly, while Liang Yuwei and Xiaohai watched TV, seeing Hao Jian diligently working in the kitchen and saying nothing.

Hao Jian busied himself in the kitchen, and slowly, the kitchen was filled with aroma. Xiaohai enjoyed the scents with a look of contentment, saying, "It smells so good."

After a few minutes, Hao Jian finished all the dishes, brought them to the table, and after setting everything up, said, "Dinner's ready."

Liang Yuwei and Xiaohai, both starving, smiled and hurriedly got up from the sofa to the table. Xiaohai even tried to grab a shrimp from the bowl without washing her hands, which prompted Liang Yuwei to slap her hand away, saying, "Go wash your hands; you haven't washed them before eating."

With a look of grievance, Xiaohai, eager to eat but having no choice, had to run and wash her hands. At this moment, Hao Jian took out a bottle of wine he'd been keeping for over a month from the cabinet, poured it into three glasses, and placed them on the table.

"Let's eat," Hao Jian said.

Xiaohai, who usually appeared mature, seemed less so with Liang Yuwei around today. She dug in with her chopsticks without presenting any dining decorum, contrasting starkly with the goddess-like image she had at Yawen School.

If the boys at Yawen School, who idolized Xiaohai as their dream goddess, knew how she acted in everyday life, they'd probably be stunned.

Liang Yuwei, however, remained calm, taking a sip of wine before slowly beginning to eat.

At this point, Xiaohai asked, "Cousin, when are you leaving this time?"

Liang Yuwei paused and then said, "In about two or three days."

At this point, Hao Jian chimed in, "Alright, it's the weekend, and Xiaohai has a break, so we can all go out together."

Xiaohai rolled her eyes at him and said, "Who wants to go out with you? I plan to hang out alone with my cousin for these two days. You just stay out of it."

Hao Jian didn't argue with her, only looking at Liang Yuwei and saying, "Well, you have to see if your cousin agrees!"
