Kian’s POV
"You’re making a mistake, Kian."
My wolf’s voice echoed in my head, sharp and insistent. I hissed, pushing him back. Shut up.
"She’s ours."
“No,” I muttered under my breath. “She is a nobody.”
My wolf growled in disapproval, but I ignored him. Aria was weak. An Omega. Nothing special.
Danielle, on the other hand, she was strong, trained, and capable. She knew her place. She knew how to please me. She was everything a Luna should be.
So why the hell was my wolf so restless?
I exhaled sharply, raking a hand through my hair. Frustration burned in my chest, coiling tight like a predator ready to strike. I needed air. Space. Something to keep me from snapping.
With a low growl, I strode out of my chambers, my steps heavy with agitation. The estate was quiet, the cool night air biting against my skin, but it did nothing to calm the storm raging inside me. My mind was a mess, tangled between rage and something I refused to name.
Then I saw them.
I stopped dead in my tracks, my pulse hammering like a war drum.
Lucian stood in the courtyard, wearing that smug, insufferable smirk. And right beside him—Aria.
A sharp tension gripped my chest, squeezing tighter with every second that passed. A dark, ugly sensation twisted in my gut, a slow-burning fury clawing its way to the surface.
Then that bastard leaned in.
My breath hitched, my body tensing like a coiled spring. And before I could process it, before I could even blink—he kissed her.
Something inside me snapped.
A low, primal growl tore from my throat, the sound raw and filled with unrestrained fury. My vision blurred at the edges, red-hot rage surging through my veins.
I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate.
I moved.
Before I could think, before I could stop myself, my body was already acting on instinct. I charged forward, my hands slamming into Lucian’s chest as I shoved him away from Aria.
Lucian stumbled back but caught himself, amusement flashing in his damn eyes. Aria gasped, staring at me in shock.
I turned to Lucian, jabbing a finger in his face, my voice sharp with warning.
“Stay the hell away from her,” I snarled. “She’s not one of your damn playthings.”
Lucian chuckled, amusement curling at the edges of his lips. Slowly, deliberately, he licked them, eyes glinting with mischief.
He was taunting me.
Infuriating bastard.
“Brother,” he mused, his voice thick with mockery. “You just rejected this beautiful angel.” His gaze flicked to Aria before sliding back to me, calculating. “Why does it bother you?”
I saw red. Then he moved—his hand reaching for her again.
I snapped.
Before he could touch her, I grabbed Aria’s wrist and yanked her away.
She stumbled slightly, her lips parting in protest, but I didn’t stop. My grip tightened, my fingers pressing against her soft skin.
“Do you really think he cares about you?” I whispered, my voice low and dangerous.
Aria stiffened.
“You’re just a game to him,” I continued, my tone bitter.
Lucian’s eyes darkened. His smirk vanished. In an instant, his fury ignited. And then he charged at me.
I barely had time to react before his fist came swinging. I dodged–just barely. The next second, we were at each other’s throats.
The night air crackled as we clashed, two forces colliding in a storm of fists, growls, and pure, raw aggression. His knuckles grazed my jaw, the impact sending a shockwave through my skull. I retaliated as I twisted sharply, bringing my knee up and slamming it into his ribs.
Lucian grunted but didn’t back down. He lunged again, his hands grabbing at my shirt as he tackled me backward. We crashed onto the stone pavement, rolling over each other in a blur of fists and fury. His elbow jabbed into my ribs. I hissed, grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back.
Lucian growled, using his weight to flip us over. I barely had time to brace myself before his fist slammed into my cheek.
Pain exploded in my skull. I saw stars, but I didn’t falter. I swung back, my knuckles connecting hard with his jaw.
And Aria let out a piercing scream.
“STOP IT!”
