Molly
I wake up and I'm instantly groaning, fuck I feel rough! I try to sit up but the whole room spins forcing me to lie back down and wince as my eyes throb in my head. "Why the fuck did I drink so much last night? Oh, yeah, that's right, Tom and his bloody cocktails, they were insanely delicious and fucking dangerous. One minute I'm sober and sitting down like a lady the next thing I'm outside dancing on tables and singing I’m a Barbie girl, fuck my life! Although I must admit it was the best night that I've had since we had a crazy night out in Tokyo several months ago and I may be feeling rough but I don't regret it, I think I needed it.
After a few minutes of laying still, I manage to sit myself self up and after a few moments in the bathroom, I'm heading down the stairs at a snail's pace while willing my throbbing head to settle down. I feel dog rough and my body feels like I've just finished a 24-hour dance-off.
"Please tell me your feeling like you've been run over while someone has used sandpaper on your tongue and little men batter your brain with oversize hammers?" both Callum and Christian burst out laughing at Jack's question “That and some more!” I crock at him while walking past him and heading straight for the coffee machine. I'm going to need that shit in an IV today!
As I reach the coffee machine and Christian he hands me an already-made one and I want to kiss him. “How are you feeling sweetheart?” He's trying to hide his smirk and failing very badly. “Ask Jack, he knows.” This has everyone laughing once more than Tom, Jack and I holding our heads. “Anything I can do to help you?” Chris asks as he opens his arms and I slip into them as he kisses my head and I instantly feel comforted. “I need IV through a drip and sympathy lots and lots of sympathy!” Yes, I'm dramatic when I'm hungover and I don't care. “Aww my poor baby!” He tightens his hold on me as he humors me and I soak up every second.
“No sympathy for you punch of piss heads!” I look over my shoulder when I hear Hunter's voice and smile. We invited him last night but he had other plans so couldn't make it. Christian turns me around and pulls me tight to his body so that my back is to his front and wraps his arms around my waist and it feels like heaven.
“I'll remember that the next time you turn up hanging out of your ass and want me to take it easy on you with the shit shoveling!” Hunter gives Jack the middle finger laughing as he grabs a cup of coffee and takes a seat at the table. I like his idea of sitting down, my legs hate me right now, as if Christian knows what I need he pulls me over to one of the chairs and sits down before pulling me onto his lap.
“Where are the kids?” I don't know what time it is but I'm pretty sure it's not school time yet. “Mom and Dad have taken them to Penny's for a treat before school,” Callum answers. “They properly didn't want them seeing your sorry asses. Terrible examples the lot of you!” His voice gets louder and louder until he's practically shouting and we're all wincing while he and Chris laugh. Assholes!
“I don't like it when I don't see them before they leave in the mornings” I'm pouting like a child but I don't care. Those kids have quickly become very important to me. Christian squeezes my waist a little tighter then I feel his breath on my ear. “How about we take them out for their dinner tonight then maybe to that trampoline Park that they have been nagging to go to, just us five?” He's honestly the best. I eagerly nod as he kisses me on the cheek. “We also need to talk about what Sophie said Last night and how we want to handle it.” I give him another nod but don't say a word. Her words still feel like a shock to my system whenever I think about them but the more time that goes on and the more I think about it the more I realize how much I actually love it. I know I shouldn't be thinking like that yet or maybe never but I can't control my thoughts but maybe I should at least keep them to myself.
“I feel sick!” Tom groans bringing my attention back to the table and everyone around it.“You lot need to eat to soak up those cocktails. You too baby.” I turn to face Chris shaking my head but he gives me a stern look. "You can either feed yourself or I'll do it but either way your eating. You'll feel better for it baby.”
A knock at the door stops my sassy reply as Tom goes to answer it but comes back just a few seconds later looking confused. “Hmm, Amy's lawyer is here to see you.” He looks directly at me and instantly I feel Christian tense. The lawyer walks in behind Tom holding a folder while a strange look covers his face.
“What’s going on? It’s 7 am!” Chris grunts sounding pretty pissed. “I know and I’m sorry to disrupt you so early but I wanted to come and see Molly before I head to the office.” Why me? Before I can ask Christian does. “What do you want with my girlfriend?” That is the first time I’ve heard him refer to me as his girlfriend to someone outside of the family and it may not be the time but still, it gives me shivers.
“My name is Trevor Smith and I’m here to say that I’m sorry for what happened with Amy I’m also sorry for my part in the letters. I didn’t have a choice. Please believe me that I didn't have a choice. I was desperate! But I shouldn't have agreed to it, I just didn't know what else to do and I'm going to have to live with that regret for the rest of my life.”
“What do you mean you didn’t have a choice? A choice in what? And what letters?” I fire the questions at him feeling my guard coming up more and more with each second. “The one that you received and also the form stating that you were being sued. If I didn’t do them then she would have torn my family apart and I couldn’t have that but it tore me apart to do it to you. I'm so sorry.”
“Wait… how did you know that I had received those? Oh fuck, you wrote them, didn’t you? They ain’t real, are they? You faked them?” I jump up from Christian’s lap pacing the room while my head spins and not just from the hangover anymore. He gives me a sad smile “I'm afraid the information and pictures are very much real however, the lady in question isn’t suing you.”
“It was Amy wasn’t it? She had you fabricate it all and then she was somehow going to claim the money for herself?” Christian practically growls out the words he’s so enraged. Trevor nods but doesn’t say a word. “I know I can never make up for what I have done to you but I want you to know that I am truly sorry and that I am going to try and make this better even if it’s just a small bit.”
“And how are you going to do that?” Jack shouts as he slams his hand down on the table. “As I said earlier I wanted to come here before I go to the office because… because I’m going to tell them what I have done. I know it won’t make things any better for you but maybe knowing that I will be punished for my part in this will bring you some sense of comfort.”
He turns and starts walking towards the door but I stop him. “What did she have over you?” He looks straight at me and the tears in his eyes somehow burn me inside. “I slept with her a few weeks ago, I don’t even remember it but she did and was threading to tell my wife who’s due to give birth any second and I couldn’t let her. We lost a baby boy to stillbirth two years ago and I couldn’t risk the stress of this causing anything to happen to her or our daughter, I couldn't live with that except I didn’t know how truly far she would go and at the bridge… we’ll it was too much and I need to try and made some amends.”
Fuck this man has been through enough and I would bet my last cent of it all being a lie like we think it is with John. Jesus, how many men has she done this to? “Don’t tell anyone anything. Keep your job and enjoy your family. It seems that we’ve all been hurt by that Bitch and it has to stop. You telling work what you have done will just start a whole new load of heartbreak that no one needs. Go to work then go home and look after your wife. Oh, and Trevor I wish you all the best for the birth of your daughter.”
He stands looking at me like a goldfish for several seconds before finally seeming to get himself together “But after what I’ve done to you, how can you be so kind?” Christian sits back down motioning me over to him and I gladly take him up on the offer and go sit in his lap, he wraps his arms around my waist and I feel us both relax. “Because Amy has been hurting people for far too long and it has to stop. She hasn’t done anything to stop the cycle of pain but we can. This ends now.”
“Thank you so much. I promise nothing like this will ever happen again. I’ll never let anyone do this to me again.” I nod smiling at him as Tom gets up from his seat. “I’ll see you out, Trevor.” He says his goodbyes as he walks towards the front door while wiping the tears from his cheeks. “How could you be so calm with him Molls? I want to knock him the fuck out!” Jack grunts still looking pissed. “He’s been hurt just as much as us in this if not more. He knows the pain of losing a child and she made him feel like that would happen again… that’s low even for her.”
“I don’t think there’s a low that she won’t sink to,” Tom says as he walks back in and starts refilling everyone’s coffee. “Besides he won’t go unpunished, not completely anyway He still thinks that he slept with Amy, the mess on her these days we’ll, that’s enough to traumatize anyone!” Despite my poor head, I laugh at what he says. Yes, I feel bad that he’s going to think that but maybe he needs this to remember to be good in the future.
“Right piss heads let’s get dressed and up to the farm, we’ve got the contractors coming this afternoon so we need to start getting plans in place.” Callum jumps up from his seat as he talks full of energy while I just want to hide in the corner of the room and be left alone to feel sorry for myself. “But I only spoke to your parents yesterday, how are they coming out so quickly?”
“I knew you’d work your magic on them baby girl so I booked in advance and told them that if it fell through that they would be compensated but I knew that we would need them.” This is one of the many reasons why I love Tom so much. The quicker we can get the building started the better. I also need to talk to Tom and the contractor about the house I want to build for Christian and the kids. I've already told Tom about it and he loved the idea and he'll be helping me every step of the way.
“Come on sweet cheeks let’s get you ready for the day.” I look over my shoulder to be greeted by Christians's sexy smirk and I swear that my whole body melts.
