Louisa's POV
"Ahh!" Lucas screamed in pain and tried to push me away, but he couldn't.
I didn't know where this incredible strength came from. I watched his arms burning in front of me and I wouldn't let go.
The burning smell of hair and flesh immediately pervaded the whole tent.
"Stop! Stop!" Lucas shouted in despair.
His body was violently trembling under me, but he couldn't get away.
The more violently he struggled, the harder I pressed him on the ground.
For the first time in my life, I saw panic and fear in his dark blue eyes.
Then, desperately, he shifted.
Dark black hair appeared all over his arms and legs.
Within a few seconds, Finn showed up in front of me.
I immediately jumped up and stepped back.
"Big paw!" I exclaimed with surprise.
I wanted to hug him, but I couldn't.
The fire in my hands was still there. I didn't want to hurt him.
Finn shook his head and the fur on his neck became fluffy.
He stretched out like a big cat and sat on the floor with a tilted head.
"Hey, you. Long time no see," he said.
His voice was horse and deep.
I swung my hands and the fire immediately was gone.
I ran towards him and hugged him in my arms.
Then, I started to cry.
Finn licked me with his giant tongue and wrapped me with his giant tail.
"Big paw, I miss you so much," I whispered in tears, stroking my face against his soft fur.
"You scared Lucas," he said. He stuck out his tongue and cracked a big smile on his face.
"He was mean to my friends," I whispered and looked at Mana and Mata.
Mata regained consciousness while Mana was helping him to sit up straight.
"Are you OK, potty mouth?" Mana asked.
"Yeah, but my back hurts," Mata said with watery eyes.
Mana helped him rub his back.
As soon as Mata lifted his eyes and saw Finn, he cried out in a terrified voice, "Ah! The Dark Prince! He's the Dark Prince!"
"Mata, are you OK?" I bent down and held him in my arms. "This is Finn. He's Lucas' wolf."
"No! He isn't! He's the Dark Prince from the Underground City! He's..." Mata suddenly stopped and covered his mouth.
I looked back and saw Finn staring at Mata.
He looked calm but commanding.
"Your little friend is delusional because of the impact. He must have a concussion or something," Finn said.
I rubbed Mata's head and said, "Mata, do you need to lie down?"
Mata looked up at me as if he wanted to say something. However, he lowered his head and nodded.
He looked terrified.
I carried him up and put him on the bed. Mana followed me and he looked very concerned. He limped and jumped up. I knew he wanted to see his brother on the bed.
I stretched out my arms and lifted him up. Then, I placed him on the bed, next to his brother.
"You can take a rest here. Don't worry. No one is going to hurt you," I said.
"But we're very dirty and smelly. We will get this clean linen wet and soiled," Mana said.
"Mana, don't worry about the linen, and go to sleep. I'll be there with you. I won't go anywhere," I covered them with the bed sheet and said.
Mana and Mata looked at me and then they started to cry out together
"You're so kind to us, Miss!"
"You made cloaks for us and now let us sleep on your bed!"
I frowned and patted their heads gently.
"Go to sleep, guys. Take some rest," I said.
They looked at each other and wept, eventually closing their eyes.
I looked back and Finn stood behind me, looking at Mana and Mata.
"Are you going to hurt them?" I frowned.
Finn shook his head.
"Are you going to hurt me?" I asked.
"No," Finn replied. Then, he lay down on the carpet in front of the fireplace, placing his giant head on his paws.
He lifted his head and put it down again. I knew he wanted me to join him.
I thought for a while, biting my lips.
Then, I sat next to him and leaned against him.
Neither of us said anything.
Listening to his heartbeat, I suddenly felt extremely exhausted.
I had a thousand questions to ask Finn and a million things to do, but at that moment, I felt I just couldn't stay awake anymore.
"Finn, who are you? Who is Lucas?" I whispered, feeling muddled and numb.
"You are tired, Louisa. Go to sleep. I'm here with you," he said.
"I need to... I need to..."
Then, I lost consciousness and passed out.
Lucas' POV
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!" I cursed.
"Keep repeating that magic word and you'll stay pretty," my wolf mumbled.
"Fuck you, Finn. Don't you mess up with me right now," I shouted in his mind.
"What are you going to do, Lucas? Bite me?" my wolf asked. "You're just a voice in my mind now."
He then used his snout to sniff the she-wolf's hair.
"She smells so great. I can sniff her all day." He said with great satisfaction.
"Fuck, Finn. Are you having an organism right now?! You're fucking sick! Wake her up now, you fucking dog! Wake her up right now and ask her what she had done to that fucking warlock!" Lucas said.
"You can shift into a human form and ask her by yourself," my wolf said.
"You..." I couldn't find the right words to express my feelings.
Usually, a simple "fuck" would do all the work, but at that time, I was literally speechless.
"What? Are you afraid of her?" my wolf gloated.
"I'm not afraid of no shit!" I barked.
"Double negative. Very interesting. You completely freak out." he chuckled.
"She's fucking on fire! You saw her! She was like a fucking burning candle and it was extremely painful when she grabbed my arms! And the scars were there! I can't fucking heal them!" I argued.
"You've branded her. So now you're even," my wolf said.
He must have got that shit-eating smile on his face again.
