The CEO's Proposition

CHAPTER 28

SAVANNAH

My day was busy walking here and there, meeting the designers, organizing advertising deliverables, and catching schedules. The work wasn’t so different from my job at New Star Media, but I was in a more flexible environment where everyone was a team player. In my preoccupied mind, I thought about Rafael, wondering what his plan was for us and what Michael had told me this morning.

But it was more on Rafael and our intimate moment in his office last night. We were both out of control as we kissed hard and fast as if we were in a race. I was hyper-aware of my environment, the building, the air, knowing he was only one floor above our department.

Did he think about me as much as I’d thought about him?

I inhaled sharply as I tried to shove off the images of his beautiful face and seductive voice in my head. I was about to enter his brother’s office.

I knocked on the door and heard Carter’s ‘come in.’ As I headed in, I heard the whispers of Carter to the person he was talking to. “Adam, we’re not politicians. We don’t mix entertainment with politics…”

Air was caught in my lungs witnessing something divine happening in my boss’s office. It was as though four archangels had descended from the heavens and gathered in one room.

Julian and Adam Sebastian stood by their younger brother’s side. They looked like they were glowing against the office windows. Rafe was there too, leaning against the edge of Carter’s desk, looking as delicious and gorgeous as ever. I had never had the chance to see the Sebastian brothers up close. Boy,

I didn’t notice them walking onto our floor. Maybe I was in the restroom or skulking busily in my cubicle. I did remember hearing some women giddying and whispering over something, though.

But one of them had to stand out. Always one of them.

Rafe and I’s gaze met. His eyes paused on me, measuring the distance between us. They seemed to be sparkling and smiling at me. He looked immaculate in his blue Brioni suit, white dress shirt with two open buttons on the chest, gray slacks, and a pair of custom oxfords.

“If Tyron Kincaid wants to pursue politics,” Julian said, “it’s up to him, but our company doesn’t do campaigns. We don’t allow that.”

Tyron Kincaid was one of this company’s and Hollywood’s pride. He had appeared in several top-grossing films of all time since the twenties. He had hundreds of millions of fans in America, including me. His movies were always blockbusters. But he was going to politics? That was news.

“Man.” Adam shoved his fingers into his hair. “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell his campaign manager.”

“Savi?” Carter finally noticed me.

“Hi, um, I didn’t know you’re… occupied. I’m just going to leave these.” I showed him the binders I was holding.

“Thank you. I’ll take it. Everyone, I’d like to introduce you to my new executive assistant. This is Savannah Gibson,” Carter said. “Savi, these are my brothers.”

I smiled at everyone as I took the files to Carter. Rafe watched me, calculating my every step.

“Savannah? As in Rafael’s girlfriend?” Adam cocked his head to look at me. He was frowning.

“You have a girlfriend?” Julian asked his brother in surprise. “Since when?”

My heart pounded. Had he been telling his brothers about us? “Oh, no. I’m not. Really not.”

“Hey, boys.” Rafael chuckled, still staring at me. “Don’t mind them,” he mouthed at me, shaking his head.

“Fancy to meet you, Savannah,” Adam said.

“Fancy that.” I smiled, stepping back.

“We’ll talk about this later, Savi. Thank you,” Carter said.

“Sure. Nice to meet you all.” I pivoted to the door and stepped out.

“Is it just me, or did you just laugh?” Adam said. “We never saw you laugh.” His voice trailed off as I closed the door. If I didn’t come out of there, they’d have a hard time waking me on the floor.

At lunch, I went to the pantry with Wesley. He’d been asking me nonstop about what happened yesterday. So I told him from beginning to end, but right now, I was on a phone call with his furious sister because I didn’t call her last night.

“I was so worried about you! I thought something had already happened!” she raged.

“I’m so sorry. I really meant to call you, but Edward came to see me last night.”

She sighed. “That man is going to be the death of you. Why can’t he leave you alone? What did he want?”

“I’ll tell you later.”

Wesley could hear our conversation. “Edward is insecure,” he said. What else could be the reason?”

“That must be it,” Riley agreed. “Anyway, can you come to the restaurant tonight so we can talk? I also have a new recipe I want you to try. If you think it’s good, I’ll put it on the menu.”

“Tonight? I’m not sure.”

“Do you have a date?” she asked.

“Something like that.” Rafe wouldn’t have mentioned it in front of his brothers, but shouldn’t he be calling me by now? I hate the waiting and the suspense.

“With him?” Wes asked.

I bit my bottom lip. “Yes.”

His eyes widened. “Are you out of your mind?”

“Don’t worry about it, Wes. Nothing has happened yet. We’re just talking. I’ll be careful.”

“You better be because you’re in this kind of mess already. One wrong move, Savi, your career will end with you.” He shook his head, taking his attention back to his lunch.

“Oh!” I heard Riley clap. “Take him to my restaurant.”

“Oh no. Don’t make him your food taster.”

“Take him.”

“No.”

“Take him, or I’ll go there to invite him myself. Please, I won’t say anything weird. Pinky swear,” she insisted.

“She won’t let it go, you know,” Wes said.

“Then help me,” I whispered.

“No, no. Don’t include me in that.” He moved closer to whisper. “I’ve known him as my boss’s boss for a long time. Suddenly, he’s my best friend’s boyfriend. It’s awkward. Maybe later when you’re finally sure of what you’re doing, okay?”

“He’s not my boyfriend!” I hissed.

“Then what is he?” Wes questioned.

“Savannah? I’m waiting here,” Riley said.

“Fine, Riley. Fine.” I grunted, giving up. “Only this time.” Well, Rafe did tell me to take him to Riley’s restaurant.

But how would I tell him this? Perhaps, I’d just go to his office?

***

I was here again. In the polished marble hallways of the executive floor, the sandstone lobby, and the glass offices, but this time, it was sunny and busy with people going in and out of their cubicles. The Sebastian Entertainment Group logo, written in steel, illuminated the reception desk next to the CEO’s office.

An attractive, groomed, and brunette young receptionist smiled pleasantly at me when I approached her. She was wearing an immaculate pink suit jacket and white shirt. She looked very model-like—the one you’d find posing for several business stock photos.

“Is Mr. Sebastian inside? Savannah Gibson, Carter Sebastian’s executive assistant.”

She was a little surprised at my introduction. “Excuse me for a moment, Ms. Gibson.” She picked up the phone and pressed it to her ear. “Mr. Sebastian. I have Ms. Gibson here… Thank you.” She put the phone down and smiled at me again. “You may come in, Ms. Gibson. You don’t have to knock.”

I smiled back. “Thank you.”

I sighed inwardly before walking to the tall, broad wooden door that led to Rafe’s office.

When I came in, he wasn’t at his desk. I glanced around, only to be snatched by a strong and powerful force to a corner, a blind spot in the office.

Rafe’s eyes met mine, burning with need, while I was pinned to the wall. His hard erection was pressing against my abdomen.

“Rafe…”

He kissed me. It wasn’t calculating, light, or discovering like the first time. He went in deep, hard, and unexpected. His hands started coming around my waist, pressing me against him.

Next thing, his nose grazed my cheek, his head dipping down to my neck, then running his tongue on my skin. He suckled, nipped, and devoured me there. His mouth was wet, soft, yet firm.

“Ahhh…” My breath caught in my throat. I inhaled the mint and coffee mixed with his male and earthy cologne. I felt an urge to turn my head because someone might come in, but I felt my world spinning in all directions. My heart pounding wild against my ribcage, my skin tingling and warm. Something about this suddenly felt forbidden.

“You feel incredible. And you smell good… so good,” he whispered hoarsely. When his lips reclaimed my mouth, I was all liquid. My hands flew to his hair to keep my body steady.

It seemed he knew what I was feeling; Rafe gripped my hips to clamp me closer while slipping his tongue into my mouth. His hand found its way underneath my skirt again.

“I’ll touch you there again, mm?”

I nodded.

Rafe slid his hand across the hem of my panties. Like last night, he swept into the lace, leisurely pushing them to the side, and plunged his finger deep into my pussy.

“Ohh…” I moaned, so he bit my lip.

“Shh…” He thrust two fingers this time instead of one.

I whimpered inwardly. I was wet—soaking around his fingers. Right now, I already knew what I wanted. I wanted him to fuck me, to make me come. Against this very wall.

“Let’s get out of here,” he whispered breathlessly. His head pressed on mine.

“But… I… I only came here to ask you about… I have so much work to do, and Carter will look for me.”

He shushed me again and kissed my mouth. “Fine.” He chuckled darkly. “God, what you do to me. What time can I see you?”

“Don’t you have a packed schedule?” I breathed out.

“I’ll make us some time. How about six?”

“Six is fine.”

“What do you want to ask me?”

“I was wondering if you could come with me for dinner at my friend’s restaurant? She’s Wesley’s sister. But it’s okay if you—”

“I’ll come. Let’s do that, and come with me after?”

“Where?”

His eyes glimmered, his mouth curling. “My place.”

“Wow.” I chuckled. “Yes, sure.”

He cupped my face and kissed me deeply and sweetly again. “Go.” He reached around me and opened the door. “Before I change my mind and finish what we started.” He squeezed my ass.

“You’re a bad man.”

He laughed.

I didn’t know where this would take us, but I knew damn well I wouldn’t be able to resist him. I smoothened my skirt and my hair and hurried out of his office.
