As Cline and Runa passed by her, Runa suddenly stopped in her tracks.
She turned around and instructed Luana, "Luana, take Mr. Coburn back to the hotel."
Luana forcibly pulled herself back to reality from her chaotic thoughts, nodded, and replied, "Okay."
Runa then smiled contentedly, linked her arm with Cline's, and headed towards the elevator.
Once they had their backs turned, Luana dared to lift her head and observe their departing figures.
Cline and Runa together seemed like a perfect match, so compatible and harmonious.
She herself, however, was just a passerby who had stumbled into their world, like a fleeting trace of a goose's flight, destined to vanish without a trace.
Luana curled her lips into a wry smile, thinking to herself that this pain was nothing.
As long as she had time to forget, she would surely let go of Cline just as she had forgotten Albion.
Luana turned around and looked at Calvert and the others who were coming out of the private room one after another.
"Mr. Coburn, I'll take you to the hotel."
Calvert understood Runa's intention, knowing she wanted Luana to take good care of them, so he didn't refuse, just nodded, and followed Luana's pace.
Luana quickly drove them to the most luxurious hotel in Los Angeles.
Seeing them get out of the car, Luana prepared to start the car and leave.
But at that moment, her heart suddenly ached violently, as if in spasm.
Her foot was still on the gas pedal, and the sudden pain made her involuntarily press too hard, causing the car to lose control and crash straight into the large pillar at the hotel entrance.
Calvert, who had already walked a distance, suddenly heard a loud "bang" behind him, and the unexpected noise made his face turn pale instantly.
He turned around without hesitation and rushed over. When he saw Luana lying limply on the steering wheel, her face pale as paper from the pain, his heart felt as if it was being tightly gripped by an invisible hand.
Calvert's face darkened, and he tightly grasped the door handle, exerting all his strength to open it, but the car was locked, and he couldn't get in.
He anxiously pounded on the window and shouted, "Miss Hammond, open the door!"
At that moment, Luana was lying on the steering wheel, clutching her chest tightly with both hands, gasping for air.
Her head was dizzy, and her ears were filled with a buzzing sound, so she couldn't hear Calvert's shouting.
Seeing no response from her, Calvert thought she had lost consciousness.
In desperation, he looked for something to break the car window and eventually smashed the rear window.
He quickly got into the car, opened the driver's door from the inside, and then got out, carefully helping Luana out of the car.
In her dazed state, Luana felt someone coming to rescue her, like a drowning person desperately clutching at a lifebuoy before dying.
She raised her hand and tightly grabbed Calvert's arm, struggling to utter a word, "Oxy...gen."
Due to her heart failure and insufficient blood supply, she was prone to oxygen deprivation in such situations.
At this moment, she was in a dangerously hypoxic state and needed oxygen to alleviate it.
Upon hearing these two words, Calvert's mind went blank.
At the same time, some scattered fragments flashed through his mind so quickly that his head ached.
He shook his head vigorously, trying to clear his thoughts, then picked up Luana without hesitation and urgently said to Dale beside him, "Get the hotel staff to bring an oxygen tank."
He knew it was too late to take her to the hospital.
Fortunately, this hotel was a property of Coburn Group, and to deal with possible emergencies from guests, the hotel always kept these first-aid supplies on hand.
The hotel manager, seeing the arrival of the CEO, quickly sent someone to get the oxygen tank.
Calvert carried Luana into the presidential suite he had booked for her.
Seeing her face pale and devoid of any color, a strange fear suddenly welled up in his heart, afraid that she would die right before his eyes.
He was anxious and quickly contacted his friend, Gath Titlington, who happened to be in Los Angeles attending an academic seminar.
After waking up Gath, who had a very regular lifestyle and went to bed on time every day, from his sleep, Calvert quickly gave the address and said, "I need you to save a person," before hanging up the phone in a hurry.
Gath was bewildered by the sudden call, threw away his phone, and planned to continue sleeping.
However, less than two seconds later, he suddenly opened his eyes.
He wondered if he had heard it wrong. Had Calvert asked him to save someone?
That guy, who was usually as cold and hard as a piece of wood, never asked for favors easily.
Who on earth could make Calvert call him in the middle of the night for help?
