Trapped by Him

Chapter 344

The car window slowly lowered, revealing a profile so exquisitely chiseled that it was breathtaking.

When Luana recognized the owner of that profile, her heart skipped a beat.

She wasn't sure if Cline had come for her, so she didn't dare to linger, reaching for the car door to quickly get inside.

However, a cold male voice came from behind, "Get in the car."

Luana froze on the spot.

She wondered, hadn't he told her never to appear in front of him again?

Why was he asking her to get in the car now?

Luana looked at the man in the car, whose cold and indifferent eyes were staring at her as if he would strangle her on the spot if she didn't obey.

After a brief internal struggle, Luana eventually walked towards the Ferrari.

She intended to sit in the back seat, but the door was locked tight and couldn't be opened, with only the passenger door wide open.

The intention was clear. He wanted her to sit in the passenger seat. Luana was a bit afraid of being too close to him, but she dared not defy his command.

She gritted her teeth, opened the passenger door, and got in.

Once she was seated and had fastened her seatbelt, Cline started the car.

This was actually Luana's first time in his car. To be precise, since she had been with him, he had never driven her anywhere.

All their "interactions" were almost entirely confined to the bedroom, and they hardly spoke a word in daily life.

Such a relationship, devoid of any emotional foundation, had clearly ended long ago, yet he had come to find her, which was perplexing.

Luana didn't know where Cline was taking her and didn't dare to ask, so she just sat quietly in the car without a word.

Cline brought her to an undeveloped coastal area.

The car stopped at a pitch-black intersection where there wasn't a single streetlight.

Seeing this environment, Luana's mind instantly conjured up those horrifying news stories of murders and body disposals, making her heart race with anxiety.

Cline didn't get out of the car but just opened the window, letting the sea breeze blow in.

He lowered his eyes and absentmindedly played with a cigarette, not saying a word the entire time.

Luana felt his behavior was a bit strange and couldn't help but steal a glance at him.

In that glance, she noticed his eyes were red at the corners, as if he was trying hard to suppress something.

Luana's heart skipped a beat again. She realized he seemed off.

She instinctively gripped the seatbelt tightly, mustered her courage, and asked, "Mr. Moriarty, what's wrong?"

Upon hearing her gentle and warm voice, Cline's expression instantly darkened as if covered by a cloud.

Luana sensed the sudden change in his demeanor and felt a pang of fear, suddenly not daring to speak anymore.

She sniffed, carefully discerning the scent in the car. Besides the light perfume, there was a faint hint of alcohol.

The smell wasn't strong, but she was certain that Cline had been drinking.

No wonder he had come to find her. It must have been the alcohol talking.

Luana sighed inwardly, thinking that he dared to drive after drinking, not caring about getting caught by the police.

As she was lost in thought, Cline suddenly crushed the cigarette in his hand, lifted his gaze, and stared straight at her.

"Did you sleep with Calvert last night?" he asked.

When he posed this question, his originally bloodshot eyes from the alcohol were now filled with contempt and disdain, as if examining something despicable.

Luana stared intently into his eyes, trying to catch any different emotion in those deep pupils, but found nothing.

She couldn't help but find it absurd and laughable. "Mr. Moriarty, you came all this way to find me and brought me to this desolate place just to ask such a question?"

Cline's gaze was like a nail, fixing on her face as he coldly uttered two words, "Tell me."

Luana felt exhausted from being misunderstood over and over again, so tired that she didn't even have the strength to defend herself.

Seeing her silence, Cline's handsome eyebrows gradually formed a frown.

He stretched out his long, knuckle-defined fingers and forcefully pinched her chin, his tone icy, commanding again, "Tell me!"

The tone and the action were both heavily coercive, leaving no room for refusal.

Luana took a deep breath, suppressing the pain surging inside her, and replied indifferently, "If I say I didn't sleep with him, would you believe me?"

Cline let out a cold laugh from his nose. "You spent the entire night in his presidential suite and didn't come out until the next evening. Do you think I would believe your nonsense?"

Luana swallowed the explanation that was on the tip of her tongue and changed her words, "Since you have already decided that I slept with him, why bother asking?"

Cline's grip on her chin tightened even more, his fingertips turning pale, and he almost roared, "Did you or didn't you sleep?"
