"Okay." She said, barely hearing herself over the pounding of her heart.
"Knock 'em dead, Baby." He told her before hanging up and her breath left her in a rush as she closed her phone to drop it back in her handbag. She looked up and froze when she saw both of her friends watching her, their faces resting in the palm of their hands as they grinned widely at her.
"I am so jealous," Lou said, making Jesse roll her eyes and reach for another sweet.
Sometimes her friends were so odd.
"I can't wear this," Jesse called for the sixth time through the bathroom door, refusing to listen to her friends as they tried to persuade her to come out. She couldn't believe that Jax had actually bought her a dress like this, let alone told her she must wear it going out!
"Oh, for fuck sakes woman! Either you come out here now or I swear to God, I will call those men of yours and tell them that you're being a big baby." Sasha snapped, her foot tapping against the tiles as she stared at the offending door that Jesse had been hiding behind for the last hour. She was just about to start banging on it again when she heard the key turn and the door slowly start to open.
Lou stepped up next to Sasha as soon as she realized that Jesse was coming out. Both of them held their breaths as Jesse walked out of the bathroom, tugging at the short black skirt that seemed to cling to her body. Becoming almost like a second skin that caressed every inch of her that it touched.
"I think I'm turning lesbian." Lou said as she stared at Jesse, who looked gorgeous in the tight black skirt that came to just above her knee. The neckline allowed a tantalizing view of her breasts but the long sleeve covering one arm kept it from being too revealing. The black stiletto gladiator heels finished the look.
"I actually agree with you, Lou. You look absolutely stunning!" Sasha exclaimed walking closer to Jesse who was trying to pull the dress down lower, frowning at Sasha when she hit her hands away.
"You don't think it's too short?" She asked, nibbling nervously on her lips.
"No way! It wouldn't look as good as it does if it was longer ... Holy shit, where did you get it? It looks really expensive."
"I actually don't know. Devon has taken to buying all my clothes and apparently, he bought this for me a few days ago. He said I should wear it tonight." Jesse admitted as her friends started circling her, eyeing the dress like it was made out of gold or something.
"The man definitely has taste."
"And an eye. Maybe we should hire him to buy our clothes for us too." Lou said as she stepped in front of Jesse. Fingering the soft material of her sleeve to see if it was as soft as it looked.
It was.
Jesse laughed nervously as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Not used to such attention anymore.
“I don't think I'm too keen on her coming with us anymore," Lou said to Sasha who made a soft noise of agreement.
"Whatever, you guys look just as gorgeous," Jesse told her friends honestly as she eyed the golden dress that Sasha had on which brought out the golden tones in her red hair which she had pulled into a high tight ponytail. Her feet were covered by small, dainty-looking heels that Jesse inched to have. Lou had curled her shoulder-length hair slightly and put on a white dress that managed to cover all the areas she hated while still managing to come off as sexy. Her black shoes looked like combat boots until she turned to the side and you saw the stiletto heels that made her seem just a touch taller.
Both women snorted simultaneously as they turned to get their bags.
"Not as gorgeous as you. No one is going to even glance at us now with you looking like that." Sasha said with a fake pout, winking at Jesse before she started leading the way to the front door.
"Until they see my moves on the dance floor, that is." Lou said smugly as she followed Sasha.
"Seriously? Have you ever seen yourself dance? It would be embarrassing if it wasn't so funny." Sasha told her friend who gasped in feigned outrage.
"I'll have you know that my grandmother taught me those moves."
"Which completely proves my point," Sasha said matter-of-factly as they stopped just outside the door, waiting for Jesse to lock it so that they could be off.
Jesse smiled and shook her head as she listened to them bickering back and forth. It never ceased to amaze her how her two friends could be as close as they are but still manage to argue about anything and everything under the sun. Though she had to admit, their arguments never became too heated and they always managed to laugh them off after a few minutes.
"Whatever, you’re just jealous because you can't shake your booty like I can," Lou said as they reached the car, backing her words up by shaking her ass at Sasha who laughed lightly. Slapping her friend on the behind to get her to stop.
"That's highly disturbing Lou," Sasha said rolling her eyes.
"Jealous." Lou sang with a grin, "Anyways, where are we going tonight?"
"There was this place that I went to with some of the other girls from work a couple of weeks ago, it had a really nice vibe going with great music. Not to mention the eye candy they have there." Sasha told them once they were all in the car, turning towards them with a wide grin so that she could wiggle her brows at her two friends.
"Sounds promising. What's it called?"
"Down and Dirty."
"Oh, very nice! Sounds promising. Can't wait to see what it's like." Lou said before they all fell into a comfortable silence that was filled by the radio Sasha turned on as she started driving. They sang along with the songs they knew, laughing loudly as they managed to distort them in some way.
Half an hour they were in front of the club, searching the packed parking area for a place to park.
"Finally! I thought we'll be stuck in that damned car all night!" Sasha exclaimed.
"Yeah, well, now we're going to be stuck outside here all night." Lou grouched as they made their way to the back of the long queue that started at the front door of the club. But as they passed the large men dressed in black checking everyone's I.D's, Jesse heard a voice so familiar that she had to pause long enough to search the crowd until she found who she was looking for.
"Colby?" She asked, stepping forward when she saw the familiar face of Jax and Devon's friend over the heads of the people standing in the front of the line.
Colby looked up from the woman he was flirting with, with a confused frown. One that instantly cleared away when he saw who it was that was calling him. In fact, the smile he threw her way had the woman he was now ignoring give Jesse a look that would have put her six feet under if she had such powers.
"Jesse! Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked as he walked over to her to warp her into a tight hug, filling her nose with the spicy scent of his cologne.
"I'm here with some friends for a girls' night out." She told him with a smile as she stepped out of the circle of his arms.
"Friends?" He asked with a curious lift of his brows before looking behind her. His hazel eyes lit with interest as soon as he saw the woman standing just a foot away from her. "Well, hello there." His smile went from warm and friendly to utterly sensual in two seconds flat, his tone low and flirty.
"Hi," Lou called with a large smile as she wiggled her fingers in a wave.
Sasha only nodded at him before letting her eyes slide away from his delicious length, recognizing a womanizer when she saw one.
"We are extremely lucky to have you lovely ladies like yourselves gracing our club tonight, come inside and I'll set you up." He said ushering the woman in front of him so that he could take them inside, bypassing all the other people who have been standing there for almost an hour.
"Uhm, Colby? Maybe we should just wait in the back of the line?" Jesse said questioningly as the large, dark-skinned bouncer let them through without even blinking. Much to the disgust of the ladies who had been trying to flirt their way in.
"No way! No girl of Dev and Jax will stand in the line at my club." He told her with a wink before they stepped inside the noisy and extremely busy club.
"Your club?" Jesse shouted up at him as he protectively pushed the people out of their way as led them to the bar. And Sasha couldn't help but notice, over Jesse's shoulder, just how nicely his shirt stretched over his shoulders when he lifted his arms. Showing off his muscles in a way that had her fingers twitching to touch.
"Yeah, Marius, Lincon, and mine." He shouted to her over his shoulder just as they reached the bar, but he lead them further on, towards the very far end of the club where the private area was corded off to keep uninvited people away.
"Hey, Link! Look who decided to pop in." Colby called to the man behind the bar when he reached the secluded area, nodding at the bouncer standing guard there as they passed him by. He made a subtle motion with his hands to tell the big guy to keep a special eye on the three ladies with him and the bouncer gave him a nod of understanding. Colby smiled in satisfaction, happy to know that nothing would happen to them while they were in his club.
Devon and Jax would kill them if anything ever happened to Jesse.
"Jesse!" Lincon called from behind the bar when he turned and saw who was walking behind his friend. He set the glass he had been polishing on the counter and signaled to one of the other bartenders that he was leaving for a bit before he jumped over the counter to pull Jesse into a hug, twirling her around twice as he did so.
"Put me down you fool!" She admonished him laughingly as she hit him lightly on the shoulder, feeling rather self-conscious about the fact that she wasn't wearing any underwear.
"You look beautiful." He told her when he put her back on her feet and slowly looked her over.
"Thank you." She said with a smile as she pushed her hair back and smoothed her dress down to where it was supposed to sit. When she was satisfied that everything was back in place, she turned to the side and motioned to Sasha and Lou who were standing behind her.
"These are my friends Sasha and Louise. Sasha, Lou this is Colby and Lincon. They're friends of Devon and Jax."
"It's a pleasure to meet you." They said simultaneously as they each took one of Lou's hands and kissed the back of her knuckles, making her laugh delightedly at having their attention focused on her.
Sasha, however, stiffened as they turned towards her, not trusting the identical looks in their eyes as they stepped up close to her and slid their hands around her smaller ones, lifting it up to their mouths to plant two lingering kisses there that had her heart picking up its pace.
Her eyes were locked in theirs, one pair of hazel and one pair of dark green, both shining with a promise of utter satisfaction.
Sasha cleared her throat and pulled her hands from theirs.
"It's nice to meet you." She said politely and stepped back from them, not liking the way her body was reacting to them or the way they were looking at her. As if she was a creamy dessert that would love to take their time lapping up.
