"Hi Tessa, Hi Hayden i can see that you both are engaged." We heard a deep voice said behind us
We turned back and we came face to face with someone that makes my blood boil.
Someone that brought out painful memories that i am trying to bury.
He was no other person than James Axel my highschool bully, highschool nightmare and enemy.
James was the guy who would have made my life in highschool a living hell if not for Tessa who was always there to defend me.
I began to fume, the heat of anger was burning up,the anger and rage was running down my veins with so much force and pressure, all what made me go through in highschool kept on rushing back.
All i wanted to do right now is to land punches on his face.
I felt a hand wrapped around mine, I looked up and saw that the hand belongs to Tessa.
"Don't do anything stupid." She warned
"Hi James, it's been long, what are you doing here?" Tessa questioned
"Chill Queen Tessa, i am not here to cause trouble, i am just here to say hi to my old time buddy." He smirked
"Okay he already heard you now go away." She said waving her hands for him to go
"Chill Tess, you are still the same always defending Hayden even up till now, i need to chat with my buddy." He said smiling
"Hayden the rumors are true, you are no longer a nerd, why did you get rid of your creepy eye glass that made you look like a dork?" He asked
"Leave here now James." Lucas warned
"Even if you changed your appearance, you will still be the weak and nerdy crybaby."
"I wonder what Tessa saw in a weak man like you." He mocked
I was about standing up so as to land a punch on his face when i saw a hand which turned out to belong to Tessa restraining me.
"I saw what most men don't have in Hayden, I saw a lovely and caring person with a beautiful soul, I saw my better half in him. I saw a fighter and a successful business man, I saw someone who doesn't rely on his parents to be successful." Tessa answered and all the people who had formed a crowd begin to cheer.
"Now leave James Axel, you are not needed here." Tessa gritted out.
I looked sideways and saw Dwayne smirking at me, now i get it, the picture is now clear Dwayne is the one that sent James to mess with me.
I won't give him the satisfaction he seeks.
"I don't buy that story that you guys are in love because the last time i remember you both stop being friends after that wonderful incident." He said laughing
"I wonder how you both got so close." He added
"We worked things out and we fell in love, you know somethings are naturally meant to be." I replied with a perfect smile
"Pssssst! I don't buy that who are you guys deceiving? He asked
"We don't give a shit if you believe us or not, we owe no one any explanation." Tessa snapped at him
"James honey, there you are i have been looking everywhere for you." We heard a lady said walking to us
"Wow! Is that really you Tessa, I heard a lot about you from my cousins and siblings who attended this highschool with you and i must confess all the things they say about you are true, you are beautiful and gorgeous." She praised Tessa
"Thanks sweetie, you look lovely." Tessa replied
"Not as lovely as you dear, I am Tricia." She said extending her hand for a handshake which Tessa gladly took
"Tricia darling can you keep an eye on James so that he won't cause nuisance today." Tessa said nicely to Tricia
"Okay, we will go ahead." She said before walking away with James
"Finally, that was intense." Joan said
"This night sucks." Elena sigh
"No darling, this night is interesting." Lucas Teased sending her a wink
"Gross!" She said laughing
"I have got to buggie and Juggle on the dance floor." Joan said dragging her boyfriend along with her as they headed to the dance floor
"I can see that you are enjoying all the compliments, drama and attention." I whispered to Tessa
"Yeah! You know that i always like getting the attention of people." She replied
"Hey guy, why don't you both come and join us in the dancing floor instead of sitting down there." Nathan one of our classmates and the MC of the occasion said
"You heard him, let's go and dance." I whispered into her ears
"Hope you know how to dance." She asked getting up from her seat and i followed her
I stepped closer to her, sliding my left arm around her waist, i took her left hand in right hand and slowly pulled closer for the dance
We slowly danced to the music, she was still the good dancer that she has always been.
"I noticed that you are wearing the engagement ring, i thought that you would have gotten rid of it." I whispered into her ears
"Even if it feels like a cuff and burden on my finger i have to wear it I make us look real." She blurted out
"When will you learn to be polite? You are still mannerless." I said
"If you got a problem with that then you will have to deal with it." She snapped
"Don't make me do what i will regret." I warned
But it follows with a step on my right toe
"Oooops! Sorry." She said rolling her eyes
Our dance moves got violent, we were passing a message of how much we both hate the sight of each other but those around us thought we were killing the dance as they gave us space and began cheering for us.
We both were breathing heavily as the music came to an end.
We spent same more time with our classmates before heading home not without promising to send our wedding invitations to all of them.
