CHAPTER THIRTEEN
THE WEDDING

I sat in front of my mirror as the make up artists transformed my face into something else.
The makeup made me looked beautiful, finally i was getting married it was certain now and I guess nothing can stop it.
In a short time i will be married to a man who hates me and the sight of me, i will become a wife to a man who detest me.
Am i really ready to be Hayden's wife?
Am I ready to get married to a man who hates me?
How will i cope in this marriage?
"You look beautiful Tessa." Joan said
I sighed looking at my reflection in the mirror.
"I can't believe that you are getting married to creepy nerdy Hayden." Mona said walking into the room
"Mona that is enough, Hayden is no longer a creepy nerd." Joana defended
"I don't care, he will still be a creepy nerd in my eyes no matter his transformation." Mona seethed
"Baby you look stunning." That was my mother's voice
"Thanks mom." I replied
"I remembered when both your dad got married, that was the happiest moment in my life." She said dreamily
"You were happy because you and dad were in love." I said
"Let's go already your dad is already waiting for us." She said changing the topic
"Let's go girls else we will be late." She said leading I and my friends out of the room

WEDDING VENUE (CHURCH)
"You look beautiful sweetheart." My dad said the moment I stepped out of the car in front of the wedding venue
"Thanks dad." I replied in a low tone
My dad took my arm and walked me to the aisle, before the aisle stood Hayden and he was in blue suit, wearing a bright smile and watching us walk to him.
"Take care of my princess." My dad said to Hayden handing me over to him the moment we got to the altar and he nodded his head
The priest took hold of the marriage book and commenced the wedding process.
First he prayed before going into the marriage rites.
"Hayden Leo Anderson, do you take Tessa Lea Cooper to be your lawfully wedded wife? To hold and love and cherish forever?" He asked
A stunned silence stepped in as Hayden didn't say a word
Oh my God ! What if he say no?
My reputation will be ruin, people will mock and at laugh me.
I can't be able to show my face outside again.
Slowly I lifted my eyes to look at him and caught him staring at me with a smirk plastered on his face.
I heard him sigh.
"Yes, I do." He finally answer
"And do you promise to be there for each her for better for worst in sickness and in death till death do you part?" The priest asked again
"Yes I do." He mumbled a reply
"And Tessa Anderson." The priest turned to me
"Do you take Hayden Anderson as your lawfully wedded husband? To love and to hold and cherish forever? He asked
I smirked looking at Hayden time for a payback.
I am so going to keep silent for a long time before I reply the priest.
I looked at Hayden and saw him looking at me with a look that says don't you dare mess this up, I took my eyes from him and looked at my parents who were pleading with me with their eyes.
"I do as if i have a choice." I mumbled the last part so that only Hayden can hear it
"Really?" Hayden whisper to me and i nodded my head in response
"And you promise to be there for him for better for worse, in sickness and in health till death do you part?" The priest asked
"Yes, I do." I answered
Next he gave the marriage rites to me to read out.
"I Tessa, take you Hayden to be my lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse for richer for poorer in sickness and in health to love and to cherish and I promise to be faithful till death do us part." I read out
Hayden was also asked to do the same, we wore the wedding ring and finally joined by the priest.
"With the power vested in me by God Almighty, I hereby pronounced you Hayden Cooper and Tessa Anderson husband and wife."
"Ladies and gentlemen I present Mr and Mrs Hayden Anderson.." The priest said
"You may now kiss your wife." The priest finally said
Like a flash, he lifted the veil from my face and brought his lips close to my mouth but instead he gave me a peck on the cheek in a such a way people wouldn't notice.
He really didn't want to kiss me, I took a deep breath trying to hide the disappointment.
There was a outbreak of Joy from the congregation as they all started clapping blissfully.
I looked at Hayden in the face, his expression was vacuous.
It is final, I am now married to Hayden Cooper a man who despise me.

WEDDING RECEPTION VENUE
"I can't believe it actually happened, you are now my husband. You are finally mine." Tessa whispered to my ear when she came back from changing for the wedding party
"For your information, I am not yours and I will never be." I whispered back
"You have got to accept it Hayden, the company or not you are stuck with me and you need to accept it so it makes things easier for you."
"The more you deny it, the more I will remind you cause when you wake up every morning I will be there, when you get back from work I will be there." She said
"I don't care." I said
We were showered with congratulating message and they wished us all the happiness in the world.
Well, I don't need the happiness, I needed freedom and peace of mind
Tessa pulled my hands and led me to the dance floor, she held my hand and I have to put a fake smile, she put my hands around her waist as we both dance to the tone of the music.
She gently pushed my hands to the back of her waist and placed her head on my chest.
"What is this for?" I murmured
"Just shut up and enjoy the moment why it last because dancing with a queen like me is a lifetime opportunity."
"You have no slightest idea how many men will kill to dance with me." She said making me scoffed out loud
"I am not like them so quit this." I snapped
"I am not doing this for you, I am doing this so that everyone will think that we are so much in love, so quit whining and co - operate, you are the one who is supposed to be putting this effort not me ." She snapped
Tessa deserve the best actress award, I can't comprehend how she is able to pretend without blinking a eye.
I just feel like pushing her away and strangling her.
The music slowly came to an end so did our dance, the crowd applauded us and we smiled
"You both look good together." Daniel one of our classmates complimented the both of us
"Wow! Congratulation on your wedding Tessa and Hayden the creep or should i rather say Mr and Mrs Hayden Anderson." We both heard Dwayne voice
"Thanks Dwayne." Elena replied with a smile but I had a frown on
"So Dwayne you honoured our invitation?" I asked
"So you two finally went ahead with the wedding, I just can't believe that the great queen Tessa just tied the knot with a creepy nerd." He mocked ignoring my question
"At least she choose a nerd over the king." I shot back at him and his countenance changed
"I don't care if you both are married because anything can happen and the bride might change her mind and divorce the groom."
"Tess sweetheart, I will be available when that happens." He said winking at Tessa, he bit his lower lip seductively
"Not a chance Dwayne." Tessa scoffed
"Who knows anything can happen darling, I will go get some wine and say hello to your parents which are still going to be my future in laws, see you love." He smirked walking away
I clenched and unclenched my fist as he walked away, if this wasn't my freaking wedding I would have punched his annoying face.
"I bet you are happy seeing your ex." I said which she ignored
"The car is here, you both should be heading home." My dad said coming to meet both of us together with my mom and the parents of my supposed wife.
"Thanks honey for doing this." Tessa dad said hugging her
"Hayden take good care of my princess and don't you dare hurt her." Her dad warned sternly
"I will sir."
"Welcome to the family darling." My mom said to Tessa hugging her
"I love you honey, make sure to call me." Her mom said to her hugging her in tears
"Girlfriend make sure to call me." Her friend Joan said hugging her
"All the best Tess because you are going to need it since you are married to someone you least expected." Her friend Mona said glaring at me before hugging her
I just don't know what is Mona's problem with me, she has always despise me even if I did absolutely nothing to her.
Not that I care
"Bro I hope you both don't kill each other." Marcus whispered to me
"I pray we don't." I said and we both laughed
"All the best man." Gerald said hugging me
We said our goodbyes to friends and family as we headed for the white limousine waiting for us outside.
"You are finally stuck with me Tessa Lea Laurel Anderson and I will surely have my revenge on you." I thought looking at her with a smirk plastered on my face
