Abbie
Just what the hell was that? I almost lost it back there. "That will not happen again," I said aloud, making Merida chuckle. "Never say never, Abbie. You liked it, and you know it."
"I DID NOT!" I said, furrowing my eyebrows. The truth is, I did... I really did and that's what upset me the most.
Hunter's kiss was still lingering on my lips. I could still feel the sparks on my body and my lips where he held me. The adrenaline surged through me, making my mind clouded. A part of me wanted to go back and kiss him, and another part of me knew... it was wrong.
I closed my eyes, touching my lips. I could still feel his gentle yet passionate kiss on my lips. The image of his dark eyes on me, made me feel like I was melting, and the way he looked at me was so... loving.
Goddess, this is a mess this is bad... this is so bad. Something in me told me it was an alarming thought to come here today, and I was right. I was so darn right, why did I come back, why did I have to change my mind? "My Goddess, this is such a mess!" I grunted as I thought aloud, running my hands through my face frustratingly.
"I... I was over him. I was. I hadn't thought of him for a while, and I didn't dream of him, or feel anything anymore. The thought of him had zero effect on me anymore. So... Why? Why did you match him with me, dear goddess Selene? Why?" I asked our moon goddess as I looked heavenward.
I walked toward a small pond that was made by Hunter's dad when I was small. It was always my favorite spot. Almost no one came here, making it the perfect spot to sit quietly when I needed some peace and quiet. Tara hated it whenever she found out I had been inside this pack. She hated me being anywhere other than at home cleaning after her and Armand.
Whenever she found out I was here, she'd tell Armand she seen me run off with friends or a boy. She'd lie to him because she knew it was a sure beating for me when I got home. I guess you could say that the only thing I'm glad of is that I have not seen them since we arrived.
I kicked a little pebble on the floor and sat on a bench. I couldn't help but sigh as I looked toward the water lost in thought.
I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't trying my hardest to avoid Hunter the rest of the day. It's true he made me react against my intentional abrasiveness. His kiss had me rattled inside, making me want to deepen the kiss and never let go, but damn it... stupid mating bond. If the werewolf mating bond didn't exist, I knew I could have avoided that feeling.
Why does he have such an effect on me? I need to get him out of my mind.
I got up and turned ready to walk around when I saw him again. He was still shirtless, I think he's fucking doing it on purpose. Asshole... "Yeah, but he's a sexy asshole," Merida says, making me grunt.
"Shut it, Merida." I scold her, throwing a pebble across the pond, causing tiny ripples in the water.
"Alpha! Play with us." a teen yells at Hunter, tossing a football at him. He catches it effortlessly, and gestures for him to run back, "Move back. Ready?" he tells the kid, making him and his friends chuckle as they run the other way.
Hunter throws the ball, his muscles flexing under him so beautifully, making me feel as if it was suddenly summertime again. The kid catches it, falling on his back from the impact of the ball, causing him to chuckle. I roll my eyes, nodding as I turn on my heel and walk the other way. "Werewolves... always showing off," I say, making Merida chuckle.
"It doesn't matter how much you try and fight it. I won't let you. And when the heat starts, I will make sure you feel ALL THE HEAT yourself."
"MERIDA!" she chuckles, making me grunt.
"I want Hunter as our mate, Abbie! And Totus wants us to! I am not letting you reject them. I won't let you! I won't," I cut her off, blocking her out of my head. She can use a little time out.
"Luna! Hi, Luna... oh my goddess, it really is you!" a girl says, making me look at her dumbfounded.
"Uh... you're talking to me?" I say, looking around, making sure she's not talking to me. Maybe Luna Maddy was behind me or something.
"Yes. You don't remember me, do you? It's ok. You and I had math class together in freshman year. My name is Keira. I'm an omega in Alpha Hunter's pack." she smiled, coming closer to me shyly.
"Oh. What's your name? I'm sorry, I don't remember many people, it's been a few years." I asked, feeling bad that I couldn't remember her. But if I'm being honest, I rarely talked to anyone back then, and I didn't hang out with anyone other than Marissa. Occasionally, Alpha Black and Luna Maddy would invite me over and I'd hang out with their daughter, Lily.
I wonder where she is, I haven't seen her since she arrived.
"I'm Dorothy, Dotty for short. Luna,"
"Please... call me Abbie," I said, not liking the whole Luna thing. It made me feel so awkward to be called the Luna.
"Right. You don't know how excited we are to have you here. We finally meet our next Luna. You have no idea how long our alpha has waited to find you." she says with a bright smile, making me smile awkwardly at her. Yeah, as if! I know for a fact he has NOT waited for me. I wonder how many of these girls he's been with?
"Right. Listen, I'm sorry... I haven't really had much rest since I got here. Do you know a place I can eat, or, maybe... could you help me? I haven't found out where I'm supposed to stay the night while we're here." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
Roaming around had made me work an appetite, but I also wanted to go and rest a little. I felt so overwhelmed by the events of the day, I just needed to go and lie down. I needed to unwind and rest before I completely lost it.
"Oh, yes, of course. I can ask where you'll be placed and take you. Would you like me to walk you to the kitchen? I can take something for you!" she asks, and honestly, it sounded like a great idea. I could use a quick bite.
"That would be great, thank you. I'd really appreciate that." she leads me to the kitchen where I help her make a sandwich for myself and for her. Then, she walks with me, talking about random stuff until she leads me to the top floor and toward these two large double doors.
"This is you, Luna. Have a good rest. I'll let everyone know you want to rest so you won't be bothered."
"Are you... sure this is me?" I say pointing to the doors, making her chuckle.
"Yes, ma'am," she says, opening the doors and making my eyes widen. My mouth gawked open as I saw the view.
"Oh my... wow! This is.. This has to be a mistake." I said chuckling. The room was amazing. It was like my own loft. Way bigger than my home. As I entered, it had a sitting area with a large, tv mounted on the wall. Huge windows that went from top to floor. Bookcases with endless books and even a private little kitchen. There were two stairs, one by the entrance, and the other stairs were located near the end of the room, leading to more bookcases filled with endless books.
The bedroom was on the top part of the room, and a big bathroom was attached to it. And even though most walls were nothing but windows, it still felt pretty private as there was nothing but a mountain view out the window.
"Oh my goddess... this is beautiful!"
"Yeah, Alpha Hunter has good taste. He has the best," she begins then quiets down, clearing her throat.
"Sorry... I have to go. I just realized it's late. I have to go help Luna Livie and Maddy with the dinner preparations."
"Luna Livie?" I asked, confused. "Yes. She is Alpha Alarick's mate. She's here for the party too. She's Alpha Brandon's sister and wanted to make sure that he and his mate, Luna Bella got the best food for their celebration. She usually loves making desserts for meals for everyone. You have to try her velvet cupcakes and New York cheesecake. It's the best." Dotty says, making me smile.
"I'm sorry, who is... alpha Alarick?" I asked, feeling dumb for not knowing who she was talking about. "Oh, he's Alpha Hunter's best friend from college. He and Alpha Hunter work together for the count... Oh, sorry, have to go!" she says, dashing out, making me feel dumbfounded.
"That was weird!" Merida adds, making me lift an eyebrow.
"You can say that again," I said, sitting on the edge of the bed. I sighed, and my eyes went wide. It smelled like him... Hunter.
Actually, the whole place smelled like him. I was in such awe when I came into the room that I didn't pay much attention to things but... I gasped, realizing I was in.... his room.
"Oh hell no!" I yelled out, making Merida chuckle. "Mi Casa es su Casa, my beautiful mate! I hope you like your new room," he says as he stands by the stairs, making me turn angrily toward him.
"Hunter!" I glare, making him chuckle.
"Do you like,"
"I am not staying in your room. Why would you even think I would stay in this room? What is wrong with you? You perve!" I said, making him chuckle.
"Wow..wow... what are you thinking, Abbie? I just want you to have the best room in my house. And, this... is the best room. I didn't bring you here to take advantage of you. Unless," he says, opening a drawer and taking out fresh underwear and a t-shirt.
"Unless what?"
"Unless you want me to," he adds, making me roll my eyes. I was steaming with anger. I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, making it hit his shoulder. He chuckled, grabbing the pillow and placing it on the edge of the bed.
"Well, I hate to say it, baby. But as of tomorrow, all the rooms will be ocupado! So you have no choice but to stay with me."
"As if. I'll just sleep with Marissa."
"She already sharing."
"My parents,"
"Abbie... they need to be alone. Why be a third wheel on your parent's vacay? What if they want to be intimate? You dare be a burden?" I sighed frustratingly, making him chuckle.
"Fine. I'll sleep in the car!" I said, slapping the pillow on the bed, and standing to grab my bags. He gets close to me, right on my face, making me startled.
"I said!... mi Casa, es tu Casa. Put it down. I'm trying to be patient with you woman. Don't test me!" he says calmly, but I can see him getting mad. And yes, maybe I'm being a bitch to him, but... I feel I have a motive. Don't I?
Still... I think I pushed a few too many buttons with him today. I put my bags down, taking a step back as I feel the sparks through my body, and gulp down nervously. He grins, taking a step closer. "Good Girl! Now, I'm getting a shower. Be a good girl and wait for me. I ordered food for you. So start eating once the food gets here, ok?" he says leaning down and kissing my lips softly.
Oh for freaks sake! I think to myself as I feel my body tremble from the sparks. Hot damn, Hunter! You're killing me here.
(mi Casa es Su Casa, my home is your home)
