Christian
I'm so fucking angry! What the hell is she playing at? "Let's look around, see if we can find any clues maybe?" Zack says. "Clues for what? Is there a secret doorway to Narnia that I'm unaware of!" I snap. "Christian don't do that." I look toward Jack pissed at his words. "Don't do what, Jack?" He steps closer to me putting his hand on my shoulder. "Don't take it out on, Zack. He's just trying to help. We're all at a loss here!"
I run my hand through my hair tugging hard. He's right, I know he is and the last thing I want to do is take it out on any of my brothers. "Shit. I'm sorry Zack. I didn't mean to get shitty with you brother. I just... I have to find my girls!" My voice breaks just by saying the words. I feel broken like my whole body is slowly being torn apart.
Zack walks up to me and pulls me into a hug slapping my back "Don't sweat it!" He pulls back a little but keeps his hands on my shoulders. "We're going to find your girls Chris and when we do it's going to be the start of a whole new beginning for you, for them, and well for all of us, and I for one, can't wait to officially have another niece, not that I don't already think of Katie that way."
I don't know how I got so lucky to have the family that I do. It's something that I've always been grateful for but lately, hell lately I've found myself grateful for them every single day!
I give him a nod unable to form words. I'm usually good at keeping myself in check around people even my family but right now my emotions are all over the place and I just don't care.
"I don't even know where to start." I pull away from my brothers, walk over to the wall and slide down it wrapping my arms around my legs and burying my head in my lap. I feel so many emotions and I don't know how to handle it. I want to scream, cry, curl up in a ball, and shut everything out. I want to get mad and hurt someone but more than anything I just want my girls back.
"Chris. Chris get up brother." I hear Jack but I ignore him. I hear footsteps and movement all around me but I pay no attention. "Chris, we need to figure out our next move, come on get up brother." Callum tries his luck next bit still, I dont move. I remain sitting on the floor feeling numb and so so lost.
A few moments pass without a word from any of my brothers while I wallow in self-pity while sitting on the dirty stable floor. "Christian Bowen get your ass up off that floor right now or so help me god I will stick my foot so far up your ass you will be eating my size tens for a month!"
My head shoots up when I hear Tom's voice while my brothers all burst out laughing at Tom's SAS. He stomps towards me holding out his hand and as much as I want to ignore it I know I can't plus Tom is a man of his word and I for one don't fancy his size ten anywhere near my ass.
I take his hand and let him pull me up. He pulls me into a brief hug before pulling back and placing his hands on my shoulders. "Now is not the time to fall apart Chris, do you understand me?" I can see the care and concern on his face but despite that, his words are firm, and hes making it pretty clear that there's no room for argument but still...
"I've let them down, Tom. I've let them down. I don't care that Katie doesn't have my dna she is my daughter just as much as Sophie is and I've let both my daughters down! What kind of man does that make me? What kind of dad does that make me?" By the time I finish talking, I'm practically screaming without even realizing it.
He crosses his arms over his chest and raises one of his perfectly sculpted eyebrows. "You finished your pity party now?" The urge to punch that perfectly sculptured eye off of his face only lasts a few seconds before admitting defeat is the only thing left to do.
"I said you finished your pity part now? If not you can stay here and wallow while I go get my nieces."
"I'm gonna punch you now Tom!"
"No problem baby boy but please go below the face I have a date coming up so we can't spoil the goods," I grunt before lightly shoving him but I know he doesn't miss the slight smirk on my face. "Your lucky I love you mind!" He smiles at my words before stepping closer to me. "I love you too brother. Now that you are over your pity party, how about we figure out what to do next yes?" I nod once again finding myself grateful for my brother.
"Wait, you have a date?" Of course, Jack didn't miss a thing that Tom said. I swear he should be a part of the elderly ladies' group that we like to call the gossip queens because he never misses a thing anyone says and he's one nosy bastard!
"It's not planned yet but it will be!" He has a mischievous look on his face and it makes me smile for a moment. I look around and it only now hits me that Molly isn't here but where is she? "Tom, where's Molly?" She went to the bank with him so it's strange that he's here alone.
"Oh, she's in the truck with Hunter. She's got the money and the rest has been ordered, it will be here in two days."
"Why's she in there?" He gives me a strange look but soon masks it with a casual look. "She didn't think that you would want her in here so she stayed out of the way. Hunter give us a ride here in Jack's truck and said he'll stay with her."
"Oh hell no! Not happening. Nope. No way!" I storm out of the barn and instantly see Jack's truck parked up with Hunter and Molly both sitting up front. He looks as if he is way too close to her and there's no way he's getting his paws on her. He's a womanizer and drops them as quickly as he picks them up and I won't let Molly be his next conquest!
I quickly make my way toward the truck and see the look of confusion on Molly's face at me heading her way. Her confusion quickly turns to shock when I throw open her door and stare at both her and Hunter.
"Why are you out here?" I already know the answer but still, I ask her again. She looks at me, scools her look of shock, and squares her shoulders. "I'm waiting for Tom. Do you want the money? I can leave with Hunter if you don't want me here."
She thinks my anger is because she is here, fuck she's so far from the truth that she'd need a microscope to see it. "Out of the truck Moll's. Come inside!" I sound and look pissed off which I am for so many reasons so the rational side of me gets it when she ignores me but I'm anything but rational today.
"Let's go, Molly." I hold out my hand for her to take to help her down from the truck but still, she doesn't move. "Molly my girls are still missing, they weren't here like we thought. We still need to find them and the last thing I need is to be worrying over you as well." She looks taken aback at my words but I don't have it in me to play any games or anything else for that matter. Not right now. Not today.
"Please, Molly!" I try one more time. If she doesn't get out of her own accord this time then I'm going to physically drag her out myself. She looks at me before letting out a small sigh. She gives me the tiniest of smiles before nodding her head and taking my hand letting me help her down from the truck.
I take the bag from her and fling it over my shoulder before facing Hunter. "Thank you for getting them both here Hunter. Can you take the truck back to my dad just in case he needs it and I'll keep you updated." I try to be nice because technically he hasn't done anything wrong but still, I want to strangle him!
"Of course, let me know if you need any help. anytime, Chris." I nod thanking him before closing the passenger door and watching him reverse away from the stable. I turn to walk back toward the stable when I realize that I'm still holding Molly's hand but I don't do a thing about it. Her hands are so small compared to mine that my own engulf hers. Her hands are soft and gentle and I find myself not wanting to let go so I don't. She can pull away if she wants to but while she doesn't I keep hold of her hand in mine and lead us towards the stable. Let's go find my girls.
