When I woke up the next morning, the sun was still in the process of rising. The moon was still visible and stared back at me through the window. Despite the chilliness coming from outside, I had two heated pillows in the bed with me. I was laying on my side, my face resting on Viktor’s chest, who lay to my left. Jake spooned me from behind.

After our talk last night, I felt a lot better. The guys knew I was hurting from my session with Clara and they massaged me until I was more than relaxed. By the time I fell asleep, I was naked. They hadn’t bothered getting dressed when they slipped into bed. I could feel every piece of Jake behind me, from his chest to his muscular torso, to the hardness that dug into my backside.

We would have breakfast with the witches today. The disdain on Jake’s face last night flashed through my mind. I knew his dislike for them ran deep but it was definitely deeper than I had previously thought. I would need to figure out why he felt that way. He was the Beta of the pack and would be vital in bridging witches and werewolves together.

“You’re up early,” Jake murmured into my hair.

“So are you.” I pushed back against him eliciting a sensual groan from him.

“This still feels like a dream,” he said quietly. Instantly, I knew what he was talking about. It hadn’t been that long that the three of us had been together. Shortly after we got back we were attacked by rogues and had to help the witches settle in.

“It does. Living with the two of you is a dream,” I murmured.

I didn’t need to see Jake’s face to know he was in his feelings. I could feel him nodding from behind me and his arms tightened around me. I don’t know how long we lay there like that. I was fully rested so I didn’t feel the need to go back to bed.

“Viktor said he wanted to talk to you about something last night but with what happened we didn’t get the chance to,” Jake said. I could hear the nervousness in his voice. Curious, I turned around in his arms until the only thing. in front of me was his chest.

“Oh?” I asked. Slowly, I looked up, dragging my eyes from his chest.

“He said he wanted to do something and he thought you would agree with him. It made me really happy and that’s why… that’s why we were at it like rabbits,” Jake laughed. “I was ecstatic.” He had bed head and his smile had me melting like putty in his hands.

“What made you so happy?” I asked.

The bed moved behind me and hard warmth pressed into my back. I looked up to find Viktor staring down at me. His lips were thick, his eyes were sleepy and dark with a hint of lust lurking in the shadows. Something about the way guys looked when they woke up first thing in the morning is so hot. It’s unfair really. They woke up looking delicious while I probably looked like a hot mess.

“I told him I wanted to mark him,” Viktor said. “I wanted the both of us to mark him, making him our chosen mate. How do you feel about it?”

“The pack will be surprised but they’ll slowly adjust,” Viktor said. “Taking a chosen mate is normal but taking a chosen mate when you’ve already found your mate isn’t.”

“There will be some push against it but as long as we’re on the same page the pack will have no choice but to accept it,” I said as I nodded. “I’m only upset that I didn’t think of it first.”

Jake was quiet and I dropped my chin so I could look at him. He hadn’t said anything. His jaw clenched and he was fighting to hold back his emotion. He was just a big warm and soft teddy bear.

“I wholeheartedly agree with Viktor,” I said. “You’re already our mate, we might as well make it official.”

“What did I tell you?” Viktor said over me to Jake.

“You said she’d agree,” Jake said. “I didn’t think I could ever be this happy.” A stray tear slid down his cheek as he stared down at me. He batted it away and struggled to find the words.

“When we first found you, I didn’t think things would turn out like this. Not in my wildest dreams would I have pictured this. My life was all work before and now… now I have two people I get to call mine.”

“It’s funny how things turn out, isn’t it?” I asked.

“It is,” he murmured, “and now you’re keeping me.” I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Yes, like a puppy, we’re keeping you,” I said.

Jake leaned forward and captured my lips in his, his tongue darted between my lips. I dipped my head back against Viktor’s chest. His hand snaked up my side beneath my shirt and his fingers twisted and played with my breast. Jake’s hand wrapped around the back of my neck and he pushed his hips into mine. I could feel his hard length against my belly. I tried to wrack my brain for the last time we’d been together. I’m sure it hadn’t been that long but I couldn’t for the life of me remember when. My wolf purred. The signal told me we were on the same wavelength.

That means it’s been too long.

Yes.

For once, it’s easy to convince you.

I was convinced as soon as Jake kissed me.
