From the day Derrick took Gloria to the amusement park, every day after Gloria left work, he would show up at the door of Fittro Club and wait for her.
He sometimes took her to Carl's diner to eat, and sometimes he simply took her for a ride.
If Gloria said no, he would simply drag her into the car.
He would sometimes book a room at Fittro Club and ask her to come and chat with him. At other times, they simply looked like a couple.
Gloria sometimes wondered when Derrick would stop wasting his time on her.
Today, after getting off work, she left Fittro Club. As she walked out of the club's gate, she saw Derrick waiting for her next to the car.
"Hurry up. What's keeping you?" Derrick casually leaned against the door of his luxury car. He walked toward her when she came out.
He smiled, walked forward, and pulled Gloria into his arms happily. Then he shoved her into the passenger seat of his car.
Neither of them knew that there was a black car parked on the street not far from them.
It was Christine who was sitting in the back seat of the car.
Christine said respectfully to Patrick, "Thank you for the ride, Mr. Hammond. I will get off now." She reached out and grabbed the door handle.
Christine was about to open the car door when a hand reached out from the side and steadily covered her hand. Shocked, she turned her head at once.
It was Patrick. His face was utterly cold, and his eyes looked vicious, as he looked out of the car window.
Christine followed his gaze. In the next second, she opened her eyes wide. She saw Gloria and Derrick together.
The air in Patrick's car froze as if a storm was coming.
Patrick stared grimly at Derrick's hand on Gloria's shoulder.
In Patrick's mind, Leo roared, "He puts his hand on our mate's shoulder! Patrick, cut his hand off!"
"It's the damn woman's fault. She didn't want to refuse him. She just let Derrick hug her!" Patrick responded angrily.
"No, it's your fault, Patrick. If you had marked our mate earlier, this loathsome Alpha would never have been able to come near our mate!" Leo accused him.
Patrick didn't continue arguing with Leo, because he was overruled by the urge to rip Derrick's disgusting hand off Gloria's shoulder.
Patrick exuded a cold aura.
Christine shivered. She stealthily glanced at Patrick beside her and felt extremely helpless.
She was worried that Patrick would vent his anger on her, and at the same time, she was also worried about Gloria.
It was very clear to her that the way Patrick was looking at Gloria right now was unfriendly. In fact, it was not just unfriendly. It was horrifying.
Christine did not know what Patrick was thinking, so, she was concerned.
"Mr. Hammond?" Christine looked at Patrick, who was beside her, in bewilderment and fright. He removed her hand from the handle of the car door and grabbed it himself.
Christine had a bad feeling.
Therefore, Christine pretended that she had not seen Gloria until now and said casually, "Isn't that Gloria? I almost didn't recognize her. I have never seen her smile like that. I thought she didn't know how to smile at all. Well, this is reassuring. She knows how to smile anyway."
Christine braced herself and looked at Patrick. "Mr. Hammond, you have no idea, I thought Gloria was the same as an artificial intelligence robot."
After Christine finished speaking, Patrick released his fingers grasping the handle of the car door. However, he still didn't let go of the handle. It was obvious that he wasn't going to get out of the car now.
"Maybe it's a good thing that Gloria starts to smile again. At least it makes her more like a living person," Christine said half-intentionally. Her words were meant for Patrick.
Her back was already drenched in a cold sweat, and she was still afraid that Patrick would see through her intentions. However, all she wanted was to stop him. If she failed, Gloria might be tortured cruelly again.
With a complicated expression, Patrick looked at Gloria and Derrick, who were not far from them.
His gaze fell on Gloria's face, and he was a little dazed. He thought, 'How long has it been since the last time I saw Gloria smile like this?
The smile on her face now isn't fake. She isn't forcing it. The smile looks damn attractive and also damn harsh!'
At the door of Fittro Club, Derrick pushed Gloria into the passenger seat, got into the driver's seat, and slowly drove away.
Patrick coldly ordered the driver, "Follow that car."
Leonard answered, "Yes." Then he started the engine and followed Derrick's car all the way to Gloria's dormitory.
Derrick parked his car downstairs at Gloria's dormitory. Leonard turned to ask Patrick, who was in the back seat, "Alpha Patrick, are you getting off?"
"No. Stop here," Patrick said. "And wait."
Derrick got out of the car and opened the door. As he waited for Gloria to get out of the car, he suddenly turned to look in Patrick's direction and challenged him with a smile.
The streetlight at the entrance showed every bit of Derrick's smile.
"Alpha Patrick, he is doing it on purpose. I'm getting out of the car," Leonard said.
"No," Patrick said.
Having no idea about what was happening, Gloria got out of the car. She looked at Derrick and asked, "What are you looking at, Mr. Fisher?"
She wanted to follow his gaze, but he moved half a step imperceptibly and blocked her line of sight. "The moon today is stunning."
Gloria looked up at the moon.
Derrick looked at her side face and asked, "Am I right? It's stunning, isn't it?"
"Yes." In fact, Gloria thought it was alright. However, such a perception may be the result of the fact that her eyes were so used to ugly things. Therefore, she could no longer appreciate the beauty in life.
Gloria figured.
