Patrick stood up and walked towards Gloria. He raised his hand, looked at his watch, and said, "Let's go. It's time for lunch. Let's go downstairs to eat."
Gloria thought that she might go through the torture of being stared at by the crowd this morning, so she didn't want to leave this office.
She lowered her head and said in a low voice, "I'm not hungry."
Patrick raised his eyebrows and said, "I'm hungry."
"I don't want to eat. I'm not feeling well and have no appetite. I won't have lunch." Gloria said again.
Patrick knew that it was her excuse. He said calmly, "You don't feel well. Alright, I'll take you to the werewolf hospital of Black Thorn Pack."
Then, he took out his phone and made a call. "Sean, are you in the werewolf hospital now?"
Gloria, who was on the sofa, suddenly reached out and pulled his sleeve. There was a trace of surprise in his eyes. He did not expect that the call would make her so anxious.
Caught off balance, he leaned forward. Patrick quickly stretched out his other hand and pressed it against the back of the sofa.
The phone was still next to his ear. On the other side of the line, Sean said with an inexplicable expression, "I am. Patrick? Are you still there?"
"Yes. Well, I plan to..." As he spoke, a small hand reached out and covered his lips tightly.
Patrick's gaze fell on Gloria's face. Thus, he looked at her with a faint smile and raised his phone. Then, he pointed downwards, asking her if she would go to the hospital or go downstairs for lunch.
To Gloria, she did not want either of them.
"We can order takeout." She took a step back. She looked at him as if she was begging for mercy.
She did not want to meet those eyes again. Gloria had lived in the dark. Why did he force her to walk into the sunlight?
Patrick raised his eyebrows and didn't express his opinion. Over the phone, Sean shouted, "Patrick! You're with Gloria? Are you with Gloria? Talk to me!"
Sean asked eagerly. Patrick just cut off the call.
"Beep." Sean looked at the phone in his hand in shock. After a while, he cursed, "Fuck!"
Patrick looked at Gloria. His gaze swept over the hand covering his mouth. Gloria followed his gaze and immediately realized that her hand was still covering his mouth. Gloria quickly took her hand away.
However, her wrist was caught. Gloria looked over. Patrick held her wrist and gently kissed her palm.
Gloria was stunned, and Patrick reached out a hand to rub her head and said, "Okay, let's get takeout."
When the food arrived, Gloria was still in a trance. She glanced at Patrick, who was standing in front of the window.
This was the first time she saw Patrick compromise.
While eating, Patrick forced Gloria to eat more food.
"Why aren't you drinking soup? Doesn't it taste good?"
He didn't see her touch the soup at all.
Patrick got a bowl of soup for her and placed it in front of her.
However, Gloria hesitated and did not drink it.
After Patrick forced her again, she reluctantly picked up the small bowl, took the spoon, and drank it one spoonful at a time.
However, Patrick looked back and forth between her and the bowl in her hand. After a long time, he understood. He grabbed the bowl in her hand and snatched the spoon. In a few seconds, he picked out the basil in the soup and silently stuffed the bowl back into Gloria's hand.
Gloria trembled. She lowered her head and drank the soup. She almost stuffed her head into the bowl and put the spoon away.
"If you don't like it, just say it," Patrick said in a low voice.
Gloria's hand trembled as she held the bowl. She raised her head and glanced at Patrick in front of her. She thought to herself, 'I don't like you. Can you let me go?
If I don't like it, just say it. But, will there be any differences if I say it?'
Gloria laughed silently. She only felt that the current Patrick and she were sarcastic.
Back then, when her wolf found out that Patrick was her mate, Gloria wanted to get close to him so passionately. But, he disliked her. After what happened to Gabrielle, he could even have lunch with her.
Now, Patrick could help her pick away the basil from the bowl as if nothing had happened between them before.
Since Patrick hated her, why was he being so considerate? Those actions seemed to show how much he loved her. But if he loved her, why was he so ruthless to throw her into werewolf prison?
After three years, her feelings toward him gradually disappeared due to fear and resentment.
It would be best for them to be strangers and never meet again. At least, that was what Gloria thought.
In the afternoon, he worked behind his desk. Gloria was reading a book on the sofa.
If people didn't know about the relationship between the two of them before, they might think they were a nice couple.
When it was time to get off work, someone knocked on the door. A line of fashionable men and women came in one after another.
"There is a banquet tonight. You should go with me." He did not give her a chance to refute. He said firmly, "You'd better not refuse. I do not have much patience. Do you remember Moonlight Group?"
Gloria's pupils shrank. The Moonlight Group was given to her by her grandfather back then. Later on, she was thrown into a werewolf prison. The Moonlight Group became the possession of the other members of the Carter family. The Moonlight Group that her grandfather gave her back then was a huge asset. However, if she wanted to get it before she found her mate, she couldn't make a big mistake.
After so many years, Gloria knew why Alpha Alger and Luna Camille recognized her crime so quickly after that incident.
Her family wanted the assets in her hand.
"Gloria, don't you want to see what the current Moonlight Group is like?"
