"Didn't I tell you? There's a glass wall in the bathroom. You can't see the inside from the outside. But you can see the outside from the inside." Patrick asked.
"Why didn't I see it?" Gloria asked subconsciously.
"Why didn't you see it?" He chuckled and said, "Maybe because the window blinds are usually down. However, I just rolled them up."
As he spoke, he returned to the bathroom and turned off the tap. Then, he raised the swipe card in his hand and asked, "Are you looking for this?"
When Gloria saw the swipe card, her shoulders trembled uncontrollably. It turned out that he already knew what was on her mind.
Patrick's forehead was wet. Water dripped down the tip of his hair. He walked toward Gloria.
There was no way to retreat. She swallowed subconsciously.
"Mr. Hammond, I'm sorry!" An imperceptible light flashed in Gloria's eyes. She bent her knees and knelt to Patrick as she spoke.
Patrick reached out a hand to hold Gloria's arm. Gloria looked up and saw his face close to her.
He was looking down at her with a seeming smile.
Gloria quickly said, "Mr. Hammond, I apologize. I knew I was wrong.."
"Oh? What did you do wrong?" Patrick smiled and asked, "Tell me then?"
Gloria's heart throbbed. She hesitated and said, "I shouldn't disobey you."
When Gloria said this, she did not know that the reluctance in her eyes was captured by Patrick.
Her words were interrupted by a chuckle. Then, Gloria felt that she was picked up.
She exclaimed, "Mr. Hammond!"
Before she could figure out what Patrick was going to do to her, she was carried onto the bed. He made her sit on the bed.
Patrick raised his index finger to signal for her to keep quiet. Then, he extended his hand toward her. Gloria thought that she was going to be beaten. She subconsciously shouted, "Don't hit me!"
She only saw Patrick extend his hand toward her, so she cried out instinctively. And she was trembling in fear.
Patrick narrowed his eyes while standing by the bed. He looked at his hand and then at Gloria. Gloria seemed to be so afraid that she held her head with both hands.
Patrick keenly noticed that Gloria did that out of instinct. She was defending herself.
His eyes turned colder. He was only reaching his hands at her. Most people would simply dodge, but she held her head and shouted crazily, "Don't hit me."
The possible reason behind this made Patrick want to kill.
Gloria was quite good at such defensive movements.
She buried her head in her chest and closed her eyes. Her eyelashes were trembling. Like a prisoner waiting for a death sentence, she was ready to be beaten up.
Suddenly, a palm fell on her head. Her eyelids trembled and she bit her lips hard.
However, she wasn't hit. Instead, she heard the buzzing sound of a hairdryer.
She was stunned.
She suddenly felt that it was ridiculous. Didn't he want to hit her? Was he going to dry her hair?
Was Patrick going to help Gloria dry her hair?
She glanced back in disbelief. She saw Patrick's white bathrobe. She felt that her head was touched. It was real. She could feel his fingertips run through her hair.
But how was this possible?
"Don't move," Patrick commanded. Gloria sat up still and didn't dare to move at all.
In the bedroom, there was only the slight buzzing sound of the hairdryer.
"Done," Patrick said.
Patrick put the hairdryer back. He turned around and saw Gloria on the bed. She was looking at him with a wary expression. He then walked toward the door.
Gloria's eyes widened and her gaze glued to him.
"Oh, by the way, take off your clothes before you go to sleep. If you ruin my bed, you know, I will be unhappy." Patrick stood at the door and left.
Gloria was surprised. She did not expect Patrick to leave just like that.
She heard the light sound of the door closing. At this time, Gloria was sure that Patrick had left the bedroom.
But before she could breathe a sigh of relief, the door was opened again. Suddenly, she became even more nervous.
Patrick, on the other hand, took out a blanket from the closet and left the bedroom without a word.
Did this mean that he was not sleeping in the bedroom?
That night, Gloria kept her eyes open until dawn. She could not understand Patrick.
First, he dried her hair. Then he slept outside with a blanket. She didn't know why he did all this and what he wanted to do next.
There were several times that she wanted to go to the living room to take a look. Was Patrick so kind? He let her sleep in the bedroom but went to sleep on the sofa himself?
But in the end, she laughed silently, "He would never be kind."
She never fell asleep that night. At dawn, she thought that another boring but peaceful day was coming.
However, she never thought that when she opened the door this time, she would never go back to those boring calm days.
"Get yourself ready. Come with me to the company later." Patrick threw a set of clothes at her and straightened up the sleeves of his white shirt.
"I guess the club is only open at night, right?" Gloria was a little confused. Fittro Club was not open in the morning.
Patrick glanced at Gloria and said, "Who told you we were going to Fittro Club?"
He then urged her, "Hurry up and change your clothes. We have a meeting this morning."
Gloria stood still.
"What are you still standing there?" Patrick said.
Gloria was more irritated. She said, "Mr. Hammond, I know that you have a lot of companies. However, the one I am working at is Fittro Club. I am an employee of Fittro Club. And I don't work for another company."
She disliked the suit in her hands. Suddenly, she got bold. She loosened her hands and the suit in her hands fell to the ground.
Patrick glanced at it and raised his eyebrows. "Pick it up."
There was irresistible pressure in his voice.
