Trapped by Him

Chapter 41

Gloria became more silent as she saw Lilian's reaction.

She didn't really need Lillian's apology. She simply wanted others to show some respect.

She almost forgot the feeling of being respected.

Patrick, the mighty Alpha, destroyed a werewolf.

He destroyed Gloria.

Gloria felt pain and regret. She told herself not to expect too much. She shouldn't expect people to respect her.

"Gloria, tell me how much money you want. Even if I have to give you all my savings, I will not apologize to you. You crawled on the ground and barked like a dog for money. A person like you is not worthy of my apology!" Lillian said angrily.

After Lillian finished speaking, she thought for a few seconds and revealed a disdainful smile.

She continued, "If you want to tell others that I hurt you, it's fine. However, no one will believe you. Let me remind you, I am a student at Gabbs University. I am here to earn my tuition fees, and in the eyes of others, you are the one who can do anything for money. Do you think they will believe you?"

Gloria clenched her fists tightly. She tried hard to suppress the pain in her heart.

After Lillian finished speaking, she left the ward in a rage.

Before she went out, she slammed the door.

Gloria's eyes were blank. She stared at the ceiling in silence and let the pain in her heart spread through her body.

She thought that she would no longer feel pain. She thought that she did not care about her dignity anymore.

"What's wrong with me today?" Gloria muttered to herself, "I had a fever. It's probably because of the fever that my mind has become muddled."

She answered herself.

Her eyes flashed with a trace of pain.

She just wanted an apology she deserved.

"Maybe I asked too much." Gloria lowered her head and said to herself, "I won't indulge myself in fantasy anymore."

She swore, or maybe she was trying to convince herself.

It was simple. Gloria only needed to remain timid and submit to all of Lillian's unreasonable and insulting demands.

But deep in her heart, she craved something else.

She wanted the long-lost feeling of "being respected", not like before, but only the basic respect.

But things went against her wishes.

Gloria decided to bury her wish deep in her heart where there was utter loneliness.

Lillian would bring food to Gloria every day, but she would leave right away after she dropped them off.

Lillian had been doing this for three days. Gloria looked at the food on the nightstand, wrapped in brown paper.

Lillian was expressionless. She was about to leave when Gloria suddenly said, "I want to be discharged."

"You can't leave now. You haven't recovered yet!" Lillian rejected her.

Gloria looked at Lillian calmly and said, "I have recovered. I don't have a fever anymore. I want to go to work."

"What are you trying to pull here? Do you want everyone to see the gauze on your head?" Lillian said angrily. "Gloria, you are good. It turns out that you are pretty scheming."

Gloria looked down to hide the disappointment in her eyes. Indeed, she was thinking too much. She thought that Lillian was concerned about her.

When she looked at Lillian again, her expression became dull. She said, "I am going to work. Please help me get discharged from the hospital."

As Gloria spoke, she got up from bed and began to get changed.

Lillian's eyes widened in shock. Was Gloria telling her what to do just now?

A sense of humiliation rose in her heart.

Lillian watched as Gloria changed her clothes, and then, she slowly walked to the door.

Gloria was serious about it.

She was leaving the hospital!

No way!

Lillian's gaze fell on Gloria's forehead and became flustered. She looked worried. Before the gauze was removed, she wouldn't let Gloria return to the club.

Lillian didn't even think about it. She blocked in front of Gloria and said, "Gloria, what the hell is wrong with you? Work? Just save it and put off the show. Your so-called work is nothing but pleasing men, which you enjoyed so much. Otherwise, why would you be in such a hurry to go back?"

Lillian only wanted to stop Gloria from going back, and wouldn't bother if those words were too harsh to Gloria's ear.

Gloria was silent. She stared at her feet and her palms were shaking behind her back. She wanted to talk back and explain herself.

What Lillian said was true and she did crawl on the floor for money.

That was exactly what she did!

How to argue with Lillian?

"Everyone has faith. I can be a person or a belief." There was a hint of sorrow in Gloria's voice.

Gloria tried to speak calmly, "And people who fight for their beliefs deserve respect."

Lillian was stunned. She sized Gloria up.

She couldn't believe that this ignorant woman could come up with such a sentence.

Lillian didn't know where Gloria learned it from.

The more she thought of it, the more she despised Gloria.

After Gloria finished speaking, she slowly walked past Lillian.

Lillian grabbed her arm and said, "You are not going anywhere. You must stay here until the wound on your forehead grows over."

Gloria slowly raised her head and said firmly, "I want to go to work. This has nothing to do with you."

Gloria shook off Lillian's hand, and then, she no longer looked at the shocked Lillian as she walked out.

Lillian then followed Gloria out.

Gloria was feeble and moved slowly, so Lillian caught up with her quickly.

Gloria did not turn back, though she heard the footsteps behind her and kept walking. "If you stop me again, I will call Christine."

Mica was the most important person in Gloria's heart. Lillian was not to be compared with her at all.

Mica was even more important than Patrick.
