Christian

"Molly, what happened?" Tom runs past me and quickly reaches her instantly checking out her hand. "I was just checking to see if anything looked like it could be saved and I slipped."

"I think it may need stitches." Tom looks straight at our Mom, she used to be a nurse so she knows more about this kind of stuff than any of us. She walks over to Molly and winches when she sees the cut across the palm of Molly's hand. "Oh sweetheart, that's a nasty cut you've got yourself there. Let's get you moved out of that rubble so I can take a better look yes?" Molly nods but then gives Tom a scared look that instantly makes me want to comfort her.

I let out a huff and stomp over to her just as Tom is about to pick her up. "I've got her." I don't wait for him to answer me instead I put an arm under her legs and another around her back and pick her up. "You're doing a really good job of trying to get yourself hurt today ain't you?" She gives me a pissed-off look which I find cute as fuck and that only annoys me even more. "Why can't you just behave and make things easier for yourself?" I know I'm being a bit over the top but it's been one hell of a day and I can't bare the thought of any more bad stuff happening.

Molly gives me one hell of a pissed look before she starts squirming in my arms. "Put me down, Christian." I ignore her words and keep walking toward the shelter. "Put. Me. Down!" The words come out through gritted teeth and as much as I'm annoyed I also want to laugh right now at her cute little temper tantrum. This woman is equally funny as she is frustrating and I don't know what to do with it or her for that matter.

"Just behave will you? I'm taking you to the shelter so Ma can clean up your hand. If you weren't so bloody clumsy as usual then you wouldn't be in this position in the first place!" She gives me a seriously pissed look before pretty much jumping out of my arms. "What the hell are you doing, Molly?"

She doesn't answer me instead, she carries on her way to the shelter while holding her injured hand close to her chest. I follow her in with both Tom and Mom right behind me while the others start making a plan for what we do next. "Can't you give the girl a break, Christian?" Mom's using her no-nonsense voice and 29 or not it still makes me think twice about whatever it is that I am doing.

We make our way down the stairs in the storm shelter just as Molly is sitting down in one of the metal seats that we have down here. My mom pulls my attention back to her when she nudges my arm with her elbow, raising her eyebrows. "I don't know what you want me to say, Mom." She shakes her head making me feel like a 5-year-old again while also making me feel annoyed. Why is everyone so eager to believe in Molly just by her word alone?

"You weren't raised to treat people this way, Christian!" I don't respond to her because what can I say? Until I find out the truth I'm pretty much the bad guy here. Tom walks past me without saying a word but I know that he's pissed at me too. Good lord give me strength.

"Ok, darling let's get you all fixed up shall we?" Mom comes to stand in front of Molly while Tom takes hold of her good hand. She looks nervous and a bit scared and it doesn't sit right with me but after the way, I just behaved I can't exactly just go over to her and nudge Tom out of the way like I want nor do I think she would want me to anyway.

Mom cleans up her hand but the cut looks pretty deep and Mom soon confirms what I thought, that she needs stitches. Molly instantly goes pale at her words which is concerning. She tightens her hold on Tom's hand before leaning her head into his chest. She's sitting there clearly scared and all I can think about is how I wish I was in Tom's place right now. Fuck I'm making myself dizzy with all of this back and fore I'm doing.

Thankfully Mom keeps a pretty well-stocked first aid kit down here so she has everything that she needs to stitch up Molly's hand. "I'll be as quick as I can sweetheart." Mom's soft voice is one of the things that made her a good nurse, she was always good at calming people, that and her calming and gentle bedside manner but still, I feel like there's more to it here. The moment she starts the stitches Molly quietly cries out but it's muffled by her face still resting on Tom's chest.

"What's going on?" The words escape me before I can stop them but thankfully Tom answers before I have to try and explain my curiosity. "Molly's scared of needles, really scared." He's gently rubbing her back with his free hand to try to help keep her calm and luckily for her mom is still as good as she was in her prime and the stitches are soon finished and her hand is covered over so the wound doesn't get dirty.

"All done darling. Try your best to keep it clean. I know it will be harder at the moment with everything going on but I will clean it regularly for you to help keep it clean." Molly thanks my Mom with a breath taking smile that sucker punches me in the stomach. "Say whatever you want to say." Her voice drags me out of my lost thoughts but her words confuse me. "What do you mean?" She looks at me like I'm acting stupid but I'm honestly lost right now. "You're staring at me so clearly you have more to say."

"I just don't understand how you can be so blind to danger. Honestly, how you have made it to your age I will never know!" Clearly can't keep my mouth shut, can I? She looks hurt for a moment but the look is soon replaced with a look of anger, the look of fire in her eyes is hot as shit. I have to get out of here.

I turn around and quickly leave the shelter but Molly's voice soon reaches my ears as she calls after me. "Christian, don't walk away from me!" I make it back to the others but Molly, Tom, and Mom are all quick to catch up to us. "I've had enough of your bullshit, Christian. I'm not dealing with it anymore!"

"Your Mom and I will take the kids over to see the horses." Dad nods his head toward me as Mom appears at his side with a now wide-awake Katie resting on her hip and I'm grateful for his fast thinking because I have a feeling that this day is about to get even worse.

Molly waits until the kids are out of hearing distance before she turns to me and gives me one pissed-ass look. Oh, here we go! "Say what you want to say, Molly." She leans on her left leg more causing her hips and arse to stick out giving her a beautiful curve and folds her arms across her waist pushing up her boobs and distracting me in more ways than one. Behave, Christian for fuck sake!

"I want to hear what you have to say because clearly you always have plenty to say!" Snickering catches my attention, and as I turn around I spot Zack and Jack both barely holding themselves together. Of course, those two find this situation hilarious. "Just don't!" of course, they don't stop, if anything they just get worse.

"Molly, this isn't the time for this conversation. We have a lot to do and there's no time for your dramatics." Yep, I just can't keep my big mouth shut! She storms towards me until we are almost touching and has to crane her head back to look at me.

"You know what, Christian, I'm done! I'm not doing this anymore. I'm done with your shitty attitude and dickish self. I'm done!

So you have two choices, either you stop this shitty behaviour towards me, or we'll sort this out now once and for all but I won't do another day of this!" Oh, she's mad!
