Kacie
My heart starts beating as I follow Beta Rich to the dining room. I hold my head high and brace myself. Ignoring the shaking in my hands I walk into the dining room and my eyes immediately find Alpha Ken.
He looks exactly the same as the last time I saw him. Even sitting he towers over the table, his blonde hair is long enough to slick back, his eyes are a landscaped green that gives you a false sense of warmth. His nose, hooked and sharp, cast a shadow on his thin lips. his jaw eternally set in a smirk was square and set heavy.
His muscular form stretched against his button-up dress shirt and his large hands lay on the table comfortably. I’ll never forget the strength in those hands and I fight the urge to bow my head and cast my eyes to the floor.
I bite the inside of my lip and force my chin up as I ready myself for his attention. Alpha Ken lifted his head and his eyes locked on mine before slowly trailing down my body. A shiver of shame slid down my back as his eyes devour every inch of my exposed legs.
Beta Rich pulls out a chair across from Alpha Ken before walking out the way we came and closing the door behind him. I keep my eyes on Alpha Ken as he scoots back and makes his way over to me.
I don’t flinch when his hand shoots out and grabs the tongs in his hands. He lifts a steak and places it on the plate in front of me. I focus on his chair on the other side of the table as he fills my plate.
His hand fingers my hair and out of the corner of my eye, I watch him lift a strand to his lips. I swallow the lump in my throat as he twirls the strand between his fingers. I keep my facial expression schooled so that he can’t see how terrified I am.
“So beautiful,” he murmurs and I’m dragged back to the last day I was at his house. My right-hand starts shaking uncontrollably and I place my left hand on top of the other to stop the shaking.
The strand falls and I exhale a small breath as he makes his way back to his chair. The next few minutes pass in silence as he started cutting his sirloin. After he takes a bite, chews, and swallows he looks at me.
“I can be good to you,” Alpha Ken says.
I bite the inside of my cheek harder than earlier. I don’t want him to be good to me. I don’t want to sit here and eat with him. I don’t even want to be here.
His eyes darkened at my silence. I watch him wrestle a thought, his desire as he looks over at me. He looks around the room and when he looks back at me, his features are calm.
“I had planned for you to be my Luna before you left,” he said. His eyes flash with anger and I try to figure a way out of this. “I think I waited patiently for you to become an adult and I may have overdone it that day. I couldn’t hold back anymore and I went about us all wrong.”
I wanted to scream as dread washed over me and spread to the tips of my fingers. I haven’t said a word since I walked into this room and he’s taking it as my submission. I wish I was one of the trained warriors that fought against enemy packs, that trained day in and day out and knew how to protect themselves.
I can feel the heat in my body, I can feel the dull fire in the soles of my feet. I try to call to it, I wish it could grow and grow until it consumed me. I wish I could burn and take this bastard with me.
I watch him as he picks up his fork and knife and starts to cut into the steak again. I know how much danger I’m in, I know where this is going to go. I know without a doubt about what’s going to happen.
After he takes another bite, his eyes wander over my shoulder to my neck. The muscle in his jaw working as he chews his food. I watch as he picks up the glass of wine to his right and drinks.
The world stops when he puts his knife down and leans back into his chair. My heart thrums against my chest as he waves me over. I realize this is it. It’s fight or flight. My mind tells me there’s a second option and I struggle to think of it as I stand from the table.
I walk over to his side as I try to think of a way to harm him and get free. I have no power here other than the ability to play along with his sick fantasy, with his games.
I realize I can bide my time and find a way out. That’s my only other option. I could try and fight him but I won’t win. He’ll overpower me and then I would have made him angry.
I shiver.
I know what it’s like when he’s angry. His hands reach out and land on my waist. I suck in a breath as he pulls me in front of him and sits me on the table in front of him. His grip is painful and I swallow my cry before it has the chance to fall from my lips.
I hate it. I hate this. I hate his touch. I hate him. I hate that I’m here. hate that I can’t get away. His eyes slide up my legs, over the pale skin on the inside of my thighs. I feel his gaze on my chest. His eyes linger on my bare neck before landing on my lips.
