Kacie
Alpha Ken leans in.
“We started off wrong but we both know I’m it for you, pet,” he says confidently. “I’ve missed you so much. Can’t you see how kind I’m being? I’m forgiving your insolence,” he spits the last word.
I flinch at the familiar anger in his voice. I know he’s talking about the change in how I regard him.
He leans in until his lips are pressed against my skin. He kisses my temple and I shudder. His eyes darken as he mistakes it for a shiver of excitement.
“I almost went mad when you left before I could make you mine. I was so hard for you Kace. You should have been mine that night. I wanted to burn the world down to get you back.” The warning bells are going off in my head.
Athena is begging me to fight back, to scratch, bite, punch him. I push her to the back of my mind, she doesn’t need to be here for this. I won’t let her be present for this. I close the mental door and distance myself from her.
Alpha Ken dips down and leans into my neck. I’m disgusted as he breathes in, inhaling my scent. I place my hands on his chest and he groans. His tongue slides up the side of my neck.
“I know how badly you want me. You just need reminding. You want this and tonight you’ll admit it.” He honestly believes I want him. Thinks he knows how I feel.
“Lay back,” he says, his voice is low and coated with lust.
I fight back the tears as I stare at his chest. If I look into his eyes right now I think I’d break. I just need a few more minutes.
I lay back slowly, placing my hands on the table until my back is flat against the table. I lean my head back and stare up at the ceiling. If I focus on the color and the lines… if I can keep my mind blank…
There’s a shuffle, my traitorous ears pick up the noise and I fight the urge to look away from the ceiling. His hands come up around my throat and his other hand slides across my thigh, right below where the dress sits.
If I’m obedient it’ll be over quickly.
As soon as the thought crosses my mind, I hate myself for giving up. I hate myself for giving in to the old me, the old mentality, the hell that I lived in and lived with after Viktor took me away.
I jerk away as his lips press into the sensitive flesh of my inner thigh. His hand grips my thigh hard and I bite down on my lip. I won’t cry out. I don’t hear the jingle of his belt buckle or the unzipping of his pants.
It’s not happening yet. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. His wet tongue darts on and lick up my thigh. Bile rises in my throat. I’m going to be sick. If I reach down and try to push him away he could make this worse. And I know for a fact it can get worse.
His rough hand slowly widens my leg and opens me up to him. I feel my body break out in a cold sweat. I’m wondering if I punch him hard enough will he fall and would that give me enough time to run?
A knock at the dining room door causes me to still. I keep my eyes on the ceiling as I hear a cracking noise that I know is his neck. A deep exhale before he answers.
“What is it?” He growls.
The door opens and my eyes land on Beta Rich and his Delta. His eyes run down the length of my body and shame burns my cheeks. Alpha Ken growl again and his eyes fall to the floor.
“I’m sorry for interrupting, Alpha. There’s an urgent matter nearby and we need to leave,” Beta Rich says.
“It’s so urgent that you need to interrupt me?” Ken seethes.
“Yes, Alpha,” Rich says, “We have intruders nearby.”
Ken’s fist slams down causing the table to shake and the cutlery to rattle. I close my eyes and squeeze them shut.
Ken looks down at me before he stands up. His hand grips my thigh and slowly slides down to my calf. He grunts and takes a step back. Ken grunts as he looks down at me.
“Call the witch,” he orders, shooting Beta Rich a glare.
“Yes, Alpha,” he says. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. After a few minutes his phone pings.
“I’ve messaged her. She’ll be right over,” he informs Ken.
Alpha Ken’s attention is back on me.
“I hate to leave you here like this pet but something’s come up and I need to go,” he says. “It shouldn’t take me long. But if I don’t come, we can finish this,” he points between the two of us, “tomorrow.”
I stare at him as he unrolls his sleeves and buttons them. He flexes his shoulders, straightens, and runs his hands through his hair. He strides away from me, heading towards the door, taking Beta Rich with him. He leaves me on my back, legs spread wide still on the table.
He stops in the doorway and turns back to look at me one more time before closing the door on me. For a long time, I lay there, listening to the silence in the house, to my breathing.
I knew he was gone but when my mind, my heart, and my body knew he was gone I sat up. I want to cry and break down but I won’t. I want to take this damn dress off and burn it.
I look around the room for something I can use to protect myself, to hurt him before Clara comes. My eyes zero in on his steak knife but I know they’ll notice if it disappeared. I look around the room, damn it.
