38 Bitch

Kacie

When I came to there was a cloth over my eyes and there was a strong repulsive smell filling my nose. I’m being carried in Beta Rich’s arms and I know we’ve gone into a building when the wind stops blowing around me.

I was in the car with Beta Rich and was feeling hot when he knocked me out. A lick of cold kissed down my spine. My throat feels dry and I struggle to swallow.

He stops and drops me onto the floor and I bite my lip to stop the pained cry from leaving my lips. I don’t know how long I was knocked out but had I been awake I would have put up a fight when we got to wherever the hell I was.

I don’t know how long I lay on the floor, Goddess knows where. I groaned. The pain in my head threatening to split my head open. My body tightened and I pushed against restraints.

For just a moment, I let the fight leave my body. I take a shallow breath and just think about Viktor. I don’t think about being scared or of having to fight. I don’t think about where I am. I think of his arms around me.

Just the thought of him brings me to tears. In one selfish moment, I let the tears rule me and tell myself he’ll come for me. That he’ll rescue me and take me home.

“Snap out of it,” Athena murmurs. “He might not even know we’re gone yet. We need to be realistic.”

I nod. The time for wallowing in my circumstances and pitying myself is over. I need to save myself. I need to focus and figure out where I am.

I stilled when I heard two hushed voices arguing nearby. There was a shuffle that sounded like there was a struggle before a loud thump.

“You know exactly what I mean! Where is she?!” The female voice demanded.

“Don’t waste your breath. I was told to bring her here. Whatever questions you have you can ask Alpha when he gets here,” a male voice chuckled.

“This is bullshit,” the female voice seethed. “I did my part, now I want her!” Ice wrapped around my stomach as I recognized the female voice.

I clenched teeth together as anger trickled through my limbs and I tried to think of a way to get out of the predicament I found myself in.

The male voice laughs. “Do you think I’m scared of you little witch?” He says a little louder, a little closer. Something’s dragging across the floor and I think it’s her feet.

I hear a gargled sound. “You should be,” Clara spits. The air flickers with electricity and I can swear I can feel it against my skin. Something dark and sinister caresses my skin.

“I have no doubt that you could kill me but you’ll never see your little sister again,” he says, “I wouldn’t do anything to upset Alpha.”

“He’s your Alpha, not mine,” she spits.

My fingers started tingling and the heat spread through my fingers. I wanted the heat to burn me away. I felt like if I could just burn with it, I could find happiness and burn like the sun.

A deep breath and an exhale distracted me from my thoughts. I sat there like a sitting duck. Open. Exposed. Blind.

“Look ba-,” the male voice started but stopped when another pair of footsteps made their way into the room.

“What’s going on here?” He growled. A shiver runs down my spine as I match the voice to Ken. Alpha Ken.

“I kept up my end of the deal,” the female voice said quietly. I don’t sense the kind of fear you feel when you’re afraid of someone but the kind of fear when you’re away for someone.

A menacing snarl rips across the room. “Are you making demands?”

“I’ve returned what’s yours,” she pleaded.

“And I told you I would return your kin to you. I never said when,” Alpha Ken said. He sounded entertained like he was enjoying her despair.

Something hit the floor.

“Please,” she begged. “I gave up my destined for what you wanted. I did what you wanted. All I want is my sister.”

Alpha Ken chuckled. “You’ll get her when I get what I want.”

“I’ve brought her to you. She’s right over there,” she hissed. “We had a deal. Where the fuck is she?!”

The room filled with an eery silence and I held my breath as I listened.

An angry roar vibrated off the walls followed by a loud slap. Her body slammed against the floor and the ground shook.

“Now look what you’ve made me do,” he laughs. “I’d watch that little attitude of yours witch.”

The sound of footsteps caught my ear and I fought the urge to turn my head towards the noise.

The footsteps paused, “You belong to me and you will yield.”

Alpha Ken’s footsteps slowly make their way to me. My breath escaped me as pain exploded and spread through the left side of my body. I curled into the fetal position and braced myself for another hit. When it didn’t my body started to shake.

“Oh Kace,” he inhales.

A distant sound of dripping can be heard and I focus on the constant drip drip drip.

“You’ve angered your Alpha. How are you going to make this up to me?”

I fight the bile from coming up and still. I won’t give him the satisfaction of knowing he scares me.

“Take that stupid thing off of her,” Alpha Ken demanded.

I flinched as cold fingers brushed against my temple before the blindfold was removed and I was blinded by the light.

My eyes strained to and I squinted trying to focus on what was in the room. They focused on the first person I saw.

Clara.

Clara sat before me.

“Bitch,” I spat.

She glared at Alpha Ken, but when her gaze fell back on me, she smiled sweetly. She stood and stepped back.

“I haven’t stopped thinking of you since the night you left,” Alpha Ken says, my eyes followed his voice. “You never should have left. You were mine, always have been, always will.”

I lifted my chin and glared up at him. “I was never yours.”
