"I know she works at the Fittro Club. She is your employee."
After thinking for a moment, Derrick came to a conclusion. He thought that maybe he had offended Patrick's employee. Given how overbearing Patrick was, everything Patrick would do made sense.
So, Derrick continued, "But she is fine, isn't she? She is not dead."
Lillian was already slumping on the ground, feeling weak.
No matter how stupid she was, she still knew what was going on.
She thought, 'It's true. I love Mr. Fisher so much, yet he did set me up.' Somehow, the face of Gloria, who was suffocating while struggling in pain in that transparent container, emerged in Lillian's mind. Back then, Gloria kept banging her fists against the container so desperately.
Lillian shuddered violently.
She thought, 'If I hadn't been lucky, it would have been me.'
"Leonard, tell him."
Leonard briefed Derrick mechanically about everything that had happened that day.
After Leonard finished speaking, Derrick clenched his fists and looked at Lillian, who was on the ground.
Derrick's mind was a mess. He had no idea that so much had happened.
Patrick snorted and said, "Derrick, I don't care what you do to her. You may kill her if that's what you want. However, when you do things, make them right. Nothing unexpected shall come along."
Patrick thought of Gloria and continued, "Gloria would have died if I hadn't gone back that day."
Derrick asked anxiously, "How is Gloria?"
"She's fine. You don't have to worry about her," Patrick said coldly. "Remember, don't have any ideas about her. She's my employee. Even if I don't want her, I don't want anyone else to care about her."
Patrick's words infuriated Derrick.
"Patrick, who do you think you are? Do you think you call the shots in Nevada? You think she's yours, just because you say so? If that is the case, do you know that her body is different from others?"
The Blood Moon Pack lived north of Stillwater Range at first, so Derrick didn't know Gloria had once belonged to the Silver Spring Pack.
However, when Derrick kissed her for the second time, he sensed the faintest whiff of a werewolf in Gloria.
Derrick keenly realized that Gloria's fear of being touched had something to do with the fact that her wolf's breath was very weak.
So, he deliberately told Patrick this to irritate him.
As Derrick expected, Patrick's eyes were filled with anger. He stood up abruptly and walked towards Derrick, asking sternly, "What do you know? Tell me!"
Patrick's anger shocked Derrick. Derrick was a shrewd man, and he knew for a fact that Patrick seldom showed any emotion. Yet right now, Patrick had lost his usual composure.
Soon, Derrick realized that, like him, Patrick was aware of Gloria's physical condition.
Derrick lowered his head, not letting Patrick notice that he was scheming something.
Then Derrick raised his eyes again and said with a calmer tone, "I know all I need to know. Not only do I know what's different about her body, but I've also touched it."
With a malicious smile, Derrick leaned towards Patrick and said in a voice that no one else could hear, "It's right on her left lower back."
Patrick's anger gradually disappeared, and instead, his eyes were so calm. However, it was the kind of calmness that one could only see before the storm.
Patrick stared at Derrick for a long time before finally moving his thin lips. He said, "The last time."
The words made no sense, but Derrick understood what Patrick meant. Patrick was warning Derrick that this was the last time. He was warning Derrick to stop drooling over Gloria.
Otherwise, Patrick might start a war between the two packs.
When Patrick heard what Derrick said, he was engulfed in inexplicable anger and jealousy.
He refused to admit that it was because he was possessive of Gloria, his mate.
Patrick knew better than anyone that no matter what Derrick said, the truth remained. Patrick was the first man to sleep with Gloria.
However, Patrick didn't care whether Derrick was telling the truth or not. And he wasn't interested in knowing how Derrick found out about the condition of Gloria's body. He just wanted to drop all of this, go back directly, and confront Gloria about it!
Patrick saw Lillian out of the corner of his eye. At the same time, Leonard walked forward and said, "Alpha Patrick, the bucket has been filled with water, just like you ordered."
"Leonard, do it," Patrick said.
Leonard followed Patrick long enough to know what Patrick wanted immediately. Leonard instantly grabbed Lillian and pressed her head into the bucket of water.
"Help!" Lillian struggled with all her might.
Patrick raised his wrist and looked at his watch while counting aside indifferently.
He said, "One. Two... Four minutes. Time is up."
Only then did Leonard pull Lillian's head out of the water. Before this, he remained motionless, though Lillian struggled in great pain and lost all her strength in the end.
Patrick grabbed Lillian's arm and pushed her into Derrick's arms. "Alpha Derrick will take over from here."
Then Patrick turned around and said, "Let's go."
Patrick thought, 'I'm going back to ask Gloria what exactly did she do with Derrick and why would Derrick know about the wound on her waist!'
Patrick remained expressionless. His handsome face was nothing but calm. However, a storm was coming!
Patrick drove and sped along. When he was standing in the doorway of Fittro Club again, Leonard and the others got out and ran to him.
Before Leonard could speak, Patrick strode off alone into Fittro Club.
Leonard could only follow Patrick.
Patrick quickly walked forward, looking indifferently. Soon, Christine's office was right in front of him. He rushed all the way and pushed the door of Christine's office hard without knocking.
Christine looked up and saw Patrick walking to the sofa in a rage.
"Gloria is not awake yet, Mr. Hammond," seeing that Patrick was furious, Christine quickly reminded him.
