Trapped by Him

Chapter 90

Lucas stood up, turned his head to look at the vigilant woman, and asked, "Aren't you going to send me off?"

"No. Mr. Norman, close the door when you leave," said Gloria.

"Isn't it a basic requirement in your line of work to see people off? Or, Miss Carter, do you think that I'm not a guest for you anymore, since you're off work and in your dormitory now? Miss Carter, maybe I should go to Fittro Club, the place where you work, to see you tomorrow. What do you think?" Lucas said casually.

Gloria thought, 'Seriously? Are you threatening me again?

How despicable!'

Gloria gritted her teeth. Each time, Lucas always managed to make her grind her teeth with hatred.

She said, "Mr. Norman, you are right. I shouldn't neglect my guests, just because I'm off duty. Mr. Norman, let me send you off."

As she spoke, she walked forward while looking at the man next to her even more vigilantly.

She thought, 'Who knows what's wrong with him? He enjoys kissing my wound so much, and he is cheeky enough to claim that he is healing it.'

At the thought of that, Gloria was repelled by Lucas.

Yet she had to hide it well.

"Relax, Miss Carter. You have my word. I'm very tired tonight, so I will not touch the scar on your forehead," Lucas said.

Gloria was skeptical. He continued with a genuine look, "I usually keep my word. I'm not lying to you."

Gloria looked carefully at his handsome face and it seemed that he was serious, without a trace of cunning. "Bye, Mr. Norman," she said in relief.

However, in the next second, Lucas quickly kissed her forehead.

Gloria was mad. She said, "Mr. Norman, how can you go back on your word?"

"I just said that I wouldn't touch the scar on your forehead today, right?" Lucas asked while knowing the answer.

"You sure did!" Gloria stroked her forehead and glared at the person in front of her.

"And you believe in that? Well, only fools will believe in that. Don't you know why I approached you?"

Lucas said righteously. He spread out his hands with a helpless look on his face as if he was saying, "You are stupid and gullible. Don't blame me."

Gloria gritted her teeth hard. If she still had a wolf, if she could shift, she would definitely use her claw to scratch Lucas' face right in front of her.

"Alright then." Lucas suddenly reached out his hand and patted Gloria on the head gently. "It's getting late. Go to bed early. See you tomorrow night."

With that, he left in a very carefree manner.

Lucas was indescribably beaming.

He thought, 'Now she is becoming more like a living person.

When I first met her, she was like a breathing corpse.'

For the next few days, Gloria always felt the urge to grit her teeth when she saw the figure in front of her dorm.

Yet before she realized it, the wound on her forehead wasn't as sensitive as before.

Also, when Lucas kissed the wound, it was no longer the same as before.

Gloria had learned to make peace with it, though she was still gritting her teeth. When a certain someone rubbed salt into her wound, she would glare at him while gritting her teeth.

Lucas grinned. "Miss Carter, how can you be so stupid? How can you believe this kind of thing?"

Gloria gasped and glared at Lucas with wide eyes. She said, "You've got blood all over yourself! You said you were set up, and you were hurt! You were lying in front of my dorm covered in blood! Anyone would take your word for it! What kind of person would curse himself like that?"

She could not believe that Lucas would put on such a big show just to trick her to get close to him.

He even got all the props prepared!

"You are gullible. What can I do?" Lucas patted his butt and stood up. "I am hungry."

Gloria stormed into the kitchen and added two tablespoons of chipotle sauce to the macaroni.

"Are you trying to kill me? It's so spicy!" Lucas shouted.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Norman. I may have just accidentally added the wrong seasoning. Please forgive me," Gloria said calmly.

Lucas squinted at Gloria for a moment and then finished all the macaroni under her gaze, sweating as he ate.

"I'm done. I'm leaving." Lucas stood up and walked towards the door.

Gloria could tell that the food was too spicy for him. She didn't know why he still ate up.

She wanted to ask, but in the end, she did not.

It was two days before the one-month deadline. Gloria put all the checks Lucas had given her these days on Christine's desk.

"Him? Again? So much?" Christine was shocked. She suddenly raised her head and asked, "Gloria, what did you do?"

Each check was for 100 thousand dollars. There were five checks, and it was 500 thousand dollars in total.

"Gloria. Did you and Lucas... I mean, did he..." Christine asked tentatively.

"No, Christine. Nothing of that sort," Gloria interrupted Christine. "There are only two days left now, Christine. Mr. Norman gives me 100 thousand dollars a day. So, when the day is up, I'll still be 100 thousand dollars short. What else can I do?"

A cold sweat broke out on Christine's forehead. She thought, 'Gloria said Lucas gave her 100 thousand dollars a day. That's so much! What exactly did she do?

Gloria only cooked for Lucas? How am I supposed to believe that?'

She narrowed her eyes and sized up Gloria in front of her. Then she said, "Gloria, what kind of deal do you have with him?"

Gloria's heart skipped a beat. She looked up at Christine abruptly. Then, Christine got the gist. She guessed it right.

Gloria knew that she could not hide it from Christine, so after pondering for a moment, she told Christine everything.

Christine was getting more worried.

"This Lucas guy is messing with you. You're like a mouse, and he's like a cat. Gloria, do you realize that he can tease you any way he wants? Can't you listen to me for once?

"Gloria, you've changed," said Christine suddenly.
