Patrick put his hands around Gloria's neck. He clenched his teeth while he started squeezing her neck.
He thought, 'It's fine. With a little more strength, I can get rid of this woman, who can easily affect my mood.
In such a way, I won't be under her influence anymore. I won't do crazy things again, such as driving her to the hospital in the middle of the night.
That's a privilege that even Gabrielle never enjoyed.'
The rational, selfish side of Patrick kept engulfing himself, and he was constantly adding more force to his fingers.
Gloria felt pain while she was in a coma. She curled herself up in a ball and frowned in pain.
Patrick saw every bit of the cold sweat on her face in the light of the bedside lamp.
He loosened his fingers all of a sudden.
He realized that he could not do it. He just couldn't!
He let go of her neck as if he had lost his strength. His hands propped up by the edge of the bed, and it took him two gasps to calm down.
He looked up only to see that Gloria was writhing in pain.
She seemed to be still in pain, and was writhing on the bed. Her pain was killing her, and she rolled over on the bed non-stop.
The needle on the back of her hand was tugged at because of her violent movement, and her blood started to rush back along the tube.
Patrick had no choice. He grabbed her other hand and pressed his body against her to restrain her.
Gloria was pinned down under him, and she could not move, yet she kept on uttering anguished murmurs.
Her voice suggested that she was in great pain, yet he found that she never said so, not even once.
"Wake up! Wake up!" He raised a hand and rudely patted her face. "Hey! Wake up! How long are you going to sleep?"
Gloria opened her eyes while still in a daze. The pain in her body hit her first. Such a kind of pain... She gritted her teeth!
"What's wrong with you?" Patrick narrowed his eyes in dissatisfaction.
"Why am I here?" Gloria asked.
"What do you think?" Patrick glanced at Gloria. Then he said, "What did I tell you? Don't go to work until you're well. You fainted at work, and you're causing me trouble."
"I'm sorry," Gloria apologized while feeling great pain. Her eyes widened due to the unbearable pain.
The pain was killing her. Fortunately, Gloria still had her sanity, and she knew that Patrick was still in front of her.
She didn't want Patrick to see her as a joke.
However, with all the thunder and lightning, the pain in her waist was getting more serious, and the pain in her legs was piercing her bone.
She had thought she was used to the pain, but now she felt it was the most painful she had felt in a long time.
Unconsciously, she bit her lip hard until it bled.
Seeing the blood on the corner of her mouth, Patrick squeezed open her mouth and quickly thrust part of his arm into her mouth.
"If it hurts so much," Patrick said in a low voice. "Bite me."
Gloria's eyes widened and she glanced at Patrick's expressionless, handsome face. Suddenly, she opened her mouth and bit his arm hard.
Patrick frowned slightly, but he remained silent, allowing her to do so.
Gloria didn't know why she would bite him. Perhaps she was angry the moment she made such a decision.
She bit his arm and felt the salty rust in her mouth. She knew it was his blood. All of a sudden, she started to cry.
Patrick pressed down on Gloria, looking down at her quietly, and she closed her eyes.
After a while, Gloria's expression finally relaxed, and Patrick got up to remove the infusion needle for her.
Patrick said to Gloria indifferently, "Get up. How long do you want to stay here? Go back to where you belong."
Gloria lowered her head and sat up silently. She propped herself up and got off the bed.
"Shoes." He threw over a pair of slippers, which were obviously too big for her. They were quite exquisite. Clearly, they were Patrick's slippers.
Gloria glanced at her feet and asked, "Where are my shoes?"
Patrick crossed his arms and sneered at Gloria, "What did I say? Didn't I tell you already? You ignored your physical condition and came to work as you pleased, and you ended up passing out at Christine's office. The company had to call a doctor for you and put you on a drip."
"But... Where are my shoes?" Gloria didn't understand. Did any of that have anything to do with her missing shoes?
"As I said, you passed out at Christine's office. You didn't think I carried you to my bedroom and called you a doctor, did you?"
"Was it Christine?"
"Christine was kind enough to call a doctor for you. You were on a drip in her office, so you probably left your shoes there. However, Christine is the general manager of Fittro Club after all, and it doesn't look good with an employee lying in her office getting fluids. We could only take you here to my place. It was a better option."
Patrick said more today than he usually did in a whole week. He didn't even realize it.
"You didn't think I offered to take you in, did you?" Patrick finally said.
Gloria knew how much he hated her.
"Thank you, Mr. Hammond. Also, I'm sorry."
Patrick was a little angry. She was constantly thanking him or apologizing to him. Would she never say anything else to him?
He thought, 'If it was Mike or Derrick, she would be throwing herself at them already.'
At the thought of this, his anger, which had vanished already, enveloped him again.
Patrick suddenly put his arms around Gloria. Before Gloria knew it, Patrick's burning hands were already on her waist.
Gloria's eyes widened in shock.
"Gloria, tell me. How did Derrick know you had a serious injury here? And how did he know that you didn't have a wolf?" Patrick asked, suppressing his anger.
Gloria felt like her breathing had paused. Patrick's words echoed in her mind, making her feel dizzy. She could no longer think straight.
"Tell me!" seeing Gloria stunned, Patrick shouted furiously.
