I was sitting next to Roman. The table that our families were sitting on, was the only one with the red drape. Roman seemed to be frowning on something. He was sniffing the air. I could a deep breath and when the scent met my nose, a wide smile crept on my face.
Erik was here.
I pushed my chair back, not caring about the people around. I ran to the front door while lifting my dress. "Erik!" I shouted in happiness when I finally saw my brother standing in front of the door. I knew that Roman was behind me as his scent was much stronger to my nose than my brother's.
"Ava!" I wrapped my arms around my brother and took a deep breath. I felt at home with him around me. "Are you okay?" I asked as I pulled away to look at him. He quickly nodded.
"I heard that you were attacked" he said with a frown.
"I heard the same thing about you" I chuckled. I noticed a girl standing behind my brother. She seemed shy. Her long blond wavy hair was so beautiful. She seemed to have a wild side in her.
"Ava, meet Marine" my brother finally said when he realized that I was staring at his mate intently. Her eyes were deep blue. I felt like they were hypnotizing.
A hypnotizing blue.
"She's so pretty" Marine and I said at the same time. We bursted out laughing after this.
"Guys, meet my mate, Roman" I presented. I turned to look behind me. I was right. Roman was standing a few feet behind me. He walked to us, an aura of power surrounding him. As my brother was a future Alpha, Roman had to present himself as an Alpha.
"Alpha Lesnar" Roman greeted.
"Alpha Johnson" Erik greeted back.
"This is all so formal" I grumbled, making Erik laugh. "Come on, everyone is waiting" I urged my brother and his mate. We all four walked to the backyard. Erik and Marine greeted everyone at our table and waved to the other tables. We all sat down. I turned to look at my mate. He was always so serious. I poked his side, making him flinch a little. He turned to glare at me.
"What?" he asked, looking at the finger which poked him as if it was a deadly weapon.
"Smile" I said.
"Give me a reason to" he muttered. I saw his eyes drift to my lips.
"My whole existence is a reason" I told him with a smirk. I knew that he wanted to smile but instead, he scoffed.
"A reason to cry?" Roman asked. I could see playfulness in his eyes. I like this Roman.
"Cry of happiness" I corrected. Roman was about to talk again but we were interrupted.
"You guys are making my ears bleed" Zack mumbled, making James nod in agreement.
"Your Alpha is too stubborn to admit that I brighten his life" I mumbled, making everyone at the table laugh.
"What are you? A bulb?" Roman asked. I turned to his side, ignoring everyone.
"Lame comeback" I stated, getting quite annoyed because he was actually good with arguing.
"It was actually good" Erik said from in front of me, making my eyes widened.
"You're my brother. You're supposed to support me!" I exclaimed, faking disappointment. Erik simply shrugged.
"Admit it, sweetheart. I'm better than you" Roman whispered from next to me. I felt the butterflies in my stomach when he called me sweetheart.
"Over my dead body" I whispered back, trying to control my freaking hormones which were inciting me to jump on him and kiss the hell out of him. As soon as an Alpha found his mate, he was supposed to mark her as his. But Roman did not. It was as if he was waiting for me to be ready. He was waiting for me to give my consent.
Maybe there was some other reasons, but I sincerely don't want to know.
"Kids, I think everyone is here already" Alpha Johnson said. "I think we may proceed with the reunion" he continued. Reunion? That's what he call that? He stood up and walked to the mini stage. He cleared his throat in the microphone, making some people jump in fear. I laughed when I saw a man, with his hand on his heart. He was breathing heavily.
"What are we going to do?" I asked Roman, leaning closer to him. I saw goosebumps Rose on his skin, making me smile.
"You'll be introduced as the future Luna of the pack and you'll go through the process of becoming a member of our pack" Roman explained. Oh yeah. I forgot. I was going to become a member of the Silver Moon Pack tonight.
"And I'll fully become a Luna after you mark me,right?" I asked, avoiding his eyes as it was quite and awkward thing to talk about.
"And after we mate" Roman added. I could feel the blood running to my cheeks. I sneakily looked at Roman who was already staring at me with a smile on his face. He chuckled slightly then turned to look at his father again.
Oh my Lord. Roman smiled and chuckled so rarely, that when he does, I think my heart is going to explode.
Everyone's attention was on Roman's father who was testing the microphone. I knew that I was supposed to talk to the pack members tonight. Yeah, a speech. I gulped and stared at the people present.
So many.
Tonight, I was either going to make the pack members like me or dislike me. I knew that I needed to be true to myself.
"I can smell nervousness" Roman mumbled, turning to look at me.
"Because I am" I admitted. He brought his hand to my knee and squeezed it reassuringly. My eyes widened when I felt the sparks on my skin. He withdrew his hand too quickly.

"Relax. I know you'll do good" Roman said, turning to look at his father who was about to start his speech.
