Chapter 9: Training

Mar 04, 2026 9 / 15

Ellie drove to a nearby park which belonged to the pack. I sighed and opened the door of the car. I wanted to go for a run. Roman wouldn't let me. Since when did I listen to someone?

It's not just not someone. It's your mate.

"I want to go for a run" I told Ellie while pouting. She rolled her lips in her mouth and looked around.

"Roman is training some pack warriors in the park here, that's why he let me bring you here" Ellie told me, making a frown appear on face. "Let's find him and ask him if you can go for a run" Ellie told me. We walked in the park and surprisingly, it was nice. There were kids and teenagers hanging out. When we heard groaning of pain, we knew that the training was not far away. As we approached, a frown crept on my face when I noticed a familiar face.

"James?" I called as I approached them. He was standing next to Roman and they were both watching a few men fighting against each other. I noticed that Zack was standing near them too. James Rose his head to look at me, then a smile crept on his face. I walked to him and wrapped my arms around him. "What are you doing here?" I asked. I was glad that there was someone from my pack here.

"Josh and I came earlier to help" James told me.

"Your father sent them because I needed some help with the training of the pack warriors" Roman said, not taking his eyes off the men who were training on the field. I turned to look at them too. I was pretty good at fighting. I used to train with my pack warriors. I noticed Lily standing with a few women on the other side of the field. She was glaring at me. I rolled my eyes then stared at the two men fighting. They were throwing punches at each other, but I could sense that one of them was getting angry.

"I think the best help you could obtain for the fighting abilities would be from Ava" James said.

"I agree" I turned to see Josh walking to us. I side hugged him then pulled away.

"Why?" Ellie asked slowly. She seemed to be intimidated by the betas and the alphas present in front of her.

"She used to train with the pack warriors when she was bored" James said, a grin appearing on his face. Ellie seemed to be impressed by James' grin as she gulped and quickly turned her head away. A smile slowly formed on my face. I could feel someone staring at me. I knew who it was. I turned my attention to Roman. He looked good. Extremely good. I unconsciously licked my lips.

"Fuck" I heard someone cursed from behind me. I turned to look at the two guys. One of them had his lips busted. He was near to turning into his wolf. He was about to lunge at the other man.

"Stop" Roman ordered. With clenched jaws, he bowed his head and took a few steps backwards.

"There's a problem of discipline" I told Roman. He stared at me, seemingly interested with what I was saying.

"Agreed" James said as he walked in the middle of the field with Zack by his side. Roman walked to them and motioned me to follow him. I did. All the warriors or future warriors surrounded us.

"Talk" Roman said to me.

"When you're a warrior, you need to know how to control your anger" I said out loud. "Because the angrier you get, the stronger your wolf side get" I explained. "You can't get angry just because of a simple punch or a little blood coming out of a busted lip" I told them. In my pack, there was no discipline problem. Because my father already explained all this things. Seems like here, nothing has been explained. "You guys are training to become warriors! A little bit of blood and powerful and painful punches are normal! You need to get that in your head" I told them loud enough for everyone to hear. Most of them nodded in agreement. I motioned to James to continue talking.

"All your fighting techniques are amazing" James said, making me nod in agreement. "Everything is good. It's just the discipline problem that you need to fix" He told them. Again, they nodded. Most of them seemed to be happy that we were helping them improve.

"And why are you the one talking and not our Alpha?" One of the women standing next to Lily asked. James rose his eyebrows. He turned to look at Roman who took a deep breath.

"Because I gave them the permission to talk" Roman said. "which I didn't give to you" he continued.

"And what if their advices are actually useless?" Lily asked this time, making me roll my eyes. She was staring at me. No. She was glaring at me and the alpha blood running in my veins hated it. I wasn't going to let my wolf take over, so I simply ignored her and turned to look at Josh. My gamma was glaring at Lily.

"And you are?" Josh questioned harshly. He hated it when someone would insult our pack.

"One of the strongest pack warriors" Lily said with pride.

"And apparently, really modest too" James snickered sarcastically from next to me.

"Actually she is" Zack muttered. He didn't seen to like Lily as it seemed like it pained him to say that. Ellie nodded while glaring at Lily. The latter seemed to hear that as she smirked while looking at me.

"I bet I could take down your alpha" Lily laughed while looking at me. To that, James and Josh bursted out laughing. I scoffed then took a step in front. I could sense that she was challenging me. No one challenges me.

"Try me" I ordered.
