"Unkle toms back!" Sophie calls out and before I can say a word both she and Brody are already running for the door.
"Be careful!" I shout out to them but I doubt either of them is listening. I pick Katie up from the floor and head for the door to see my brother, I've barely seen him over the past 7 years since he joined the army.
Even after he left the army he went to live in Florida with Archie and his wife Molly so I didn't see him much even then. Yes, we had the odd visits from him and spoke a few times a week over Facetime and whenever I had the kids but it still hasn't been the same.
Sadly Archie died last year in a house fire and so Tom and Molly went on an around-the-world trip that was already planned, don't get me wrong I'm glad that Toms got to live his dreams of going in the army and traveling the world but I'll be glad to have him home I've missed him!
Before they left for their trip Tom phoned my parents and told them that he wanted to ask Molly to move here with him after the trip as he didn't want her to be alone and of course, my parents were more than happy to have her here.
I've never met her but they have and apparently, she is amazing. What I don't get is why she's coming here to live when she has her and Archies family to be with. Something has felt off since I found out she was coming here. She's lost her husband but didn't waste any time in upping and leaving both families behind to travel around the world.
And then to just up and leave her whole life behind to live here, she hasn't even been back to see any of them after being away for a year. I hate being judgemental but something doesn't feel right, it seems like heartless behavior and I don't like it plus my parents are older now and I'm the oldest son. I need to protect my family from any hurt and I will.
I'd be lying if I said that I don't have my suspicions about her and I will be keeping a close eye on her, there has to be more to what my brother has told us and I plan on finding out every single detail because I have my family to protect and my kids and no ones going to mess with them!
The kids swing the door open and I catch sight of them flinging themselves at Tom and him toppling over with them landing smack bang on top of him. Welcome home Uncle Tom! "Kids I told you to be careful!" I shout but soon grin at hearing both kids and Tom laughing while they lay on the floor.
I look over to his left and for a moment I feel like the wind has been knocked out of me at the sight in front of my eyes. A girl is standing next to Tom who I can only assume is Molly and fuck she is beautiful! She's got her blonde hair tied up high in a pony while it curls loosely down past her shoulders and green eyes that seem to sparkle like emeralds.
She's wearing denim shorts and a white tee-shirt, nothing special but yet she looks hot as hell. The one thing I can't not notice is her height she can't be much more than 5ft 3/4 she's tiny and I find it fucking cute as hell.
I shake my head and pull myself back to reality she may be fucking beautiful but that won't distract me from the truth and that is that she is hiding something and I am intent on finding out what it is. I'm not usually one to interfere in other people's business but if she's going to live here with my parents, brothers, and kids then they deserve to know everything and I'm pretty sure that they don't.
Tom manages to get off the ground with the kids still laughing just before he looks up at me beaming and I know I'm doing the same. "Hello, brother," Tom says to me in his usual cheeky manner.
"It's nice to have you home sweet cheeks!" I say back and we're soon laughing including Jack while I see a smile appear on Molly's face and somehow she looks even more beautiful. She's not making disliking her easy.
I put my attention back on Tom as he walks over to me and gives me a quick hug before turning his attention to Katie. He's not met her in person but he's spoken to her many times over face time and clearly, she remembers his face as she stretches out her arms to Tom making both him and I smile.
"Come here, little miss!" He sings out to her as he takes her from my arms. "Oh Christian this is Molly, Molly, this is my oldest brother Christian and his children Brody, Sophie, and this little one is Katie. I know I shouldn't but I can't help but love that he refers to Katie as my daughter.
"Hi, it's lovely to meet you." She smiles over at me and I return it with a polite greeting, I may not like her but that doesn't mean I will be mean to her not unless she gives me a reason to do it.
"Where's Mom and Dad?" Tom asks thankfully distracting me once again.
"Oh, they are in Littlewood and won't be home until the morning. They did plan on being home today but had trouble with the truck and couldn't get it fixed until late today. Mom said to tell you that they will be home tomorrow and that they can't wait to see you, both of you."
"Awe we'll that's a shame but it's prop best because they will want a detailed rundown of the last year and we're both in desperate need of food, a shower, and a good sleep it's been a long travel!" Tom whines, I think it's all starting to catch up with him now.
"Your right there!" Jack says while rolling his eyes earning a laugh from both Tom and me.
"I've made your bed Tom and I've set up the spare bed for you Molly." I love the way her name sounds on my tongue.
"Thank you, Christian," She says while smiling and now I love the way my name sounds on her tongue. What the fuck is wrong with me? I don't like her nor do I trust her. Maybe I just need to get laid it's been a few weeks, yes that's it I just need to get laid this is just a sexual thing and I have no plans in seeking it in her.
