Chapter 25

Molly

I wake up feeling tired and stressed, After that hell of a nightmare it took forever for me to get back to sleep and more dreams soon interrupted my sleep. Only these weren't dreams of the fire but dreams that involved Christian and today of all days is not the day for me to try and figure out what they could possibly mean.

I stretch out only to quickly realize that I'm not in my bedroom or, should I say Tom's guest bedroom. Where am I? I sit up and soon realize that I'm on the couch in the living area but how the hell did I end up here?

As I get up from the couch a swarm of voices quickly reach my ears including one of the cutest voices that I have ever heard which can only be little Miss Sophie.

"Tom and I have the fields covered and Hunter will be here at 12 so Tom will come back in then and help you guys. Jack's voice is the first of the adults to reach me.

"I've got the late shift tonight so I'm free all day for whatever is needed," That's Callum.

"And your mother and I will take care of the kids and the school runs today so you dont have to worry about them," Oh wait... I forgot that Christian has to get the bedroom ready today for the kids and I'll be moving into Tom's room.

I stretch out my aching body as I make my way over to the kitchen table while praying that there is some coffee left for me. "I can help where ever you need me." Today is going to be painful for me and in all honestly I've been dreading it so any distraction is very much welcomed. Although I would help in any way I could for those kids regardless of how I'm feeling.

"Good morning, baby girl," Tom's beaming smile is always a welcome sight first thing in the morning but even more so today. "Morning darling. I give him my best smile but inside I feel a thunderstorm of emotions. I'm sad, happy, angry, and more than anything I'm feeling confused which isn't something I thought I would be feeling... not today of all days.

He keeps his smile on his face but the look in his eyes tells me he knows that my smile is partly fake. "You sure you dont want to top and tail with me, Molly?" Jack's voice pulls me from my lost thoughts and is a welcome distraction while his usual cheeky smirk makes me laugh.

"hmm, I dont know about that Jack..."

"Molly girl you will love it! I have the comfiest bed in this house, you'll have me next to you and if you're very lucky I may even let you pick what we watch in bed." He wiggles his eyebrows at me causing not only me but half of the table to burst out laughing.

Well, everyone except Christian that is. He's sitting in one of the wooden chairs with the look of someone who has spent the last 10 minutes chewing wasps and yet I'd swear that his eyes are wondering the length of my body, but that can't be right.

"Such a hard thing to turn down Jack but unfortunately I have to." He clasps his left hand over his heart and fakes hurt while slowly sinking down in his chair. "Oh you'll live Jack, dont worry." He shoots me a wink before shrugging and sitting back upright in his seat. "I guess we'll just have to find out."

"Molly you wanta sleep in my bed with me? Fudge sleeps with me too be a ikkle bit squashed." Shophie's cute voice breaks through everyone else's and it's just the sweetest sound.

"Molly is sharing with Uncle Tom but your kind for offering baby." Christian's voice is a mixture of firm and soft as he answers Sophie's question but I don't miss the snide look that he gives me. What does he think... that I planned for her to ask me that question?

"Daddy is right sweetheart, but thank you for asking." I offer Sophie my warmest smile which seems to please her. "Okay. Daddy, can I watch tv peas?" She looks from me to Christian with the cutest smile and already It's clear to see that she has her daddy wrapped around her little finger. "Yeah, can we Daddy?" Brody's little voice chimes across the room as he also gives his dad a cute smile.

"Yes ok, but only 15 minutes, and then it's time to get dressed for the day ok?" They both happily nod before leaving the table and laughing while they run for the living area. "Coffee Molly?" Callum's voice pulls my attention back to the table as he starts refilling the empty cups much to Jack and Tom's obvious relief. "Yes please!" He chuckles at my eagerness while Tom pats the seat next to him.

I take a seat landing me dead opposite Christan and the glare that he's reserved just for me and while I usually wouldn't be bothered, I must admit that I'm struggling to ignore him today. Why Can't he just have a day off or better yet be a shit to someone else instead for a change?

"How come you ended up on the couch Molls?" Callum places a steaming hot cup of coffee in front of me before sitting back in his seat next to me. "I don't really know... I can't remember." I hadn't really thought about how strange it was that I couldn't remember how I'd ended up there when I had woken up until now.

"What do you mean you can't remember?" Ruby asks me with a look of concern on her face bless her heart. "I remember waking up in bed late last night but then nothing until I woke up on the couc...." Before I finish my sentence I realize exactly what has happened and so does Tom as I feel his hand rest on my shoulder and gently squeeze.

"It's ok baby girl." I look at him and while his reassuring smile does help to settle me a little, I still feel shit. It's been ages since this has happened and I hate the helpless feeling that's instantly returned. "What's going on?" Christian's voice is way too eager almost like he's about to uncover some dark secret when it couldn't be further from the truth.

"It's nothing don't worry. I'm going to start packing up my stuff so that the room is empty for you." I stand up picking my coffee up at the same time but my ass doesn't even get around the chair before I hear Christian's voice once more.

"It's clearly not nothing, or is this to do with whatever secret it is that you are keeping from everyone?"

“Christian, what is your problem?” Tom practically growls the words towards Christian and yet no one around the table seems shocked.

“It’s fine Tom, don’t worry about it.”

“No, it’s not fine baby girl!” Tom is pissed and a pissed Tom never ends well for anyone.

“I’ve already told you my problem. The quicker it’s out in the open the quicker she ca-“

“Christian that’s enough!” John shouts as he slams his hand down on the table causing me to jump. Hell, I don’t think I’ve ever seen John even slightly angry before and I can’t say that I like it.

“I’m sorry Dad but she’s living in your house with your family and grandchildren and somethings clearly going on. Surely you want to know?”

“I know all I need to about Molly and I don’t want to hear any more of your complaining about it or you talking bad to her. You weren’t raised that way son and I won’t have it!”

“Christian the room will be ready for you in 10 minutes. Ruby, I'm so sorry about this, I never meant to bring any trouble to your home.”

"Make sure your quick about it!" Christian's attitude towards me is too much today. "Jesus Christ Chris, enough already!" I'm shocked to hear Callum shouting at Christian and despite the way he's treating me I don't want him to fall out with his brothers over me.

"I don't want you to fall out with your brothers over me Christian. I will pack up my stuff from the bedroom and start looking for somewhere else to live. I just ask one thing of you... Please leave it alone today I don't... I can't."

I can’t say another word or the tears that I’m holding in will fall and I won’t let Christian see that. Instead, I give Tom the best smile that I can and head for the stairs.

“Molly come back darling.” I turn to face Jack but don’t say a word. I still can’t. Instead, I head up the stairs to start packing up my things and decide what to do next or should I say where to go next.
