"Hey, Tom what time will you be finished here?" I'm in the horse stables putting new shoes on Nemo while Tom washes down Elsa when Molly's voice distracts me as she walks towards us and I'd be lying if I said that my heart doesn't speed up when I first see her.
She's wearing a knee-length white dress, she curled her hair and left it hanging loose down her back while she's got sunglasses on top of her head keeping her hair out of her face. The one thing that stands out to me the most is the fact that she's not wearing any makeup, it's a rare thing to see in this town but I honestly love it and I hate the fact that I find her so fucking beautiful.
"I won't be long baby girl, why what's up?"
"I need to pop into town for a new laptop and some stuff, was wondering if you wanted to come?" As quickly as I found her attractive it fips back when I hear her speak those words. I wonder whose money she'll be spending because she lived off of Archie's money before he died and I have no fucking doubt that she's been living on Tom's money this past year so I can only assume he's going to foot the bill this time too.
Don't get me wrong living off her husband's money is fine, Amy did during our marriage but Molly's not Tom's responsibility. He's told me that he's saved a nice amount while he was in the army and I'll be dammed if I'm gonna stand by and watch her rinse him.
"Of course I do plus we wouldn't want you getting lost either now would we?" Tom's voice drags me back to the present as he lets out a chuckle that earns him a cheeky smile from her and I feel it all the way down to my dick! How the fuck can I find her this hot and yet dislike her at the same time? Fuck I need help!
"I would have you helping me so I finish quicker but a white dress and horses ain't a good mix,"
"No, they ain't plus I've never been around horses before nor do I know anything about them so I'd be useless but they are beautiful creatures," She whispers back seeming lost in her thoughts while I concentrate back on finishing Nemo's shoes.
She walks a little further into the barn and suddenly lets out a yelp causing my head to fly up and Tom to drop the horse pipe. I mentally check her over when I realize that Lighting has got ahold of her dress in his mouth and isn't letting go.
Lighting was abandoned a few months ago and we brought him here but he's seriously anti-social. He doesn't let anyone near him never mind ride him, he just stays in his stable all day and eats. He won't even let us take him out to the big outdoor pen so he can run around or wash him properly. We have to just horse pipe him down the best we can and hope we don't get a kick for it.
Tom quickly reaches her side and I look around me to realize that I'm standing right in front of her, my feet moving without me even noticing. Tom tries to smooth lightings face but he thrashes about resulting in him pulling on Molly's dress even tighter and bringing her closer to him.
He seems fascinated with her as he doesn't stop pulling on her until she is flush against the pen door and I swear it's like the horse is looking straight at Molly while Tom starts to panic and flap about. The boy has been in the army and yet he is terrible in the smallest of crises.
"Tom go and grab a bag of carrots from the barn we've run out of them." He nods before quickly running from the stables and it's only once he's gone that I realize how calm Molly is being, I look up to her face and find her staring at lighting and I kid you, not it's as if they are having some sort of silent conversation.
She brings her hand up and moves it towards Lighting and before I can control myself I reach out to stop her. The fear of her being hurt hits me hard and it got me fucking confused. I've already figured out that my sexual attraction to her is purely because I haven't been laid in a while but why the fuck am I bothered so much by the thought of her getting hurt when I dislike her so much and don't trust her?
"He's known to bite." I push the words past gritted teeth but before she can say anything Tom comes running in with a carrot and distracts lighting enough that he lets go of her dress and takes the carrot before stomping to the back of his pen.
"Are you ok sweetcheeks?" Tom asks her as I step back and try to get a grip on my fucking myself.
"I'm fine Tom, honestly he didn't hurt me!"
"I will finish seeing to Elsa, Tom, you can head out now if you want before she causes herself any more trouble here!" The words come out angry towards Molly and I am angry but not at her. I'm angry at myself and I'm not initially sure why.
"Christian, what is your problem with Molly?" Tom growls out the words to me and for a moment I'm shocked but Tom always protects the ones that he loves and if I'm being honest with myself I know he has good reasons to ask me that question.
"I don't have a problem with her!" I try to contain my anger but I'm not sure how well I'm doing.
"you have been shitty with her since she arrived here!" Before I can answer him his phone beeps with a text and his beaming smile tells me that our parents are back and fuck am I glad for the distraction.
"Well hello, there darling!" The three of us turn our heads to the sound of Hunter as he walks into the barn and straight over to Molly, the guy really has no shame!
"Molly this is Hunter, he's Jack's best friend from high school and our farm hand." Tom makes quick introductions before grabbing Molly's hand and heading outside.
"Leaving already?" Hunter whines and I want to punch him in the face to shut him up. Fuck Hunter can be a pain in the ass but I've never wanted to hit him in a serious way, what is wrong with me?
"Mom and Dad are going to be here now and we haven't seen them since we got back so we're heading to see them." By the time Tom's finished speaking his shouting from being so far away from us, I just feel relieved that Molly is away from Hunter.
That girl is seriously messing with my fucking head!
