Viktor
Jake and I led the way back to the pack house in wolf form, she followed close behind unguarded. I had a feeling if she wanted to escape us, she could. She looked ethereal under the moon, her skirt flowing with the wind, her shirt sheer enough to see that she wasn’t wearing anything underneath.
Her pert nipples followed by the milk curve of her breast. Her lavender scent causing my hair to stand on end. Her curves glowing in the moonlight. Guilt riddles me as I think of Kacie.
When we cross into District 1, she clears her throat and says something lost in the wind. Stopping, I turn around and I try to ignore how beautiful she looks even as my breath catches.
Her smile flashes to the side as if she knows her affect on me. Distracted by my thoughts, I didn’t realize she had taken a few steps closer to me until she was standing right in front of me. The glow of her earrings brighter now that she was closer, they were almost whirling loudly.
Her eyes were the color of the sky when there isn’t a cloud in the sky. Her skin was fair and her lips glistened. My eyes met hers again and she slowly raised her hand to my thick black mane, her fingers spread and ran up to my ears. She took one last step closer that brought her close enough to where I could feel her breath on my chest.
“It’s easier to talk to you in this form,” she says with a smile.
I make no movement towards her. I fight Flash’s thoughts and wants. We don’t know what this is. For all we know this could be a spell or a trap of some kind.
“My name is Clara,” she says and I’m locked in her gaze.
Flash whines and I blink, snapped out of my stupor, I move away from her and continue walking towards the pack house. Before anything else, I need to figure out why she’s here and what she wants.
“But she’s our mate,” Flash whines.
“Kacie is our mate,” I tell him. “Or do you not remember who was under last night and this morning? Who gave herself to us completely? Who’s been on our mind constantly since we got here?” I’m getting irritated with his lack of remorse for Kacie.
Flash is saddened by the thought of Kacie but his main focus is till on who stands before us.
“You haven’t bonded with her wolf yet but the full moon is coming and you’ll be able to have your first run with her.”
He’s silent.
“We have a mate, this is our pack and we need to know why she was so close to our borders. It’s against our laws to even have a witch on our lands.”
The pack house came into view and I decided to take this into the meeting hall. Clara and the other witches didn’t attack us, so I won’t take her to the dungeons. They must have something they want to say or tell us.
My sister is in the packhouse waiting for us with clothes. As Clara comes into view, her eyes travel her body before a scowl spreads across her face. Heading into the meeting room, Jamie has a few of the Deltas guarding at the door and in the room.
Shifting, I grab our clothes and we change before starting the meeting. When we get back into the meeting room, Clara is sitting.
I ignore the need to get her out of that chair and sit in my spot across from her. When I face her, she’s sitting with her head held high, and her arms on the table in front of her.
“Why are we here and not in the dungeons? We should be trying to find out everything she knows,” Jamie hissed.
“She hasn’t done anything other than exist. We can’t assume their arrival connects them to the rogue attacks,” I tell her trying not to sound defensive.
“She’s a WITCH brother. This is very bad,” she tells me.
“I agree with Gamma,” Beta Jake says.
“I know what you think she is to you but she doesn’t belong on our lands. She shouldn’t be treated as a guest,” Jake says still fearful of her.
“She shouldn’t have been allowed on our lands,” Jamie says, anger in her voice.
“Why would she willingly come here? This could be a trap,” Jake says suspiciously shooting Clara a glance.
“Enough. I didn’t ask for your opinions on where we should keep her. We are here to figure out why she’s here,” I say, my gaze returning to Clara.
“I came here because I received a vision… of the future. It brought me to the border of your lands and it brought me here to your pack lands,” Clara says.
“Why would these visions bring you here?” I ask.
“Why would your visions care about what happens here? You are not our people, we are not your people,” I say firmly.
“What did your vision show you?” Jake asks curiously, asking the question we’re all thinking.
All eyes are on her as she looks around the room. When her eyes land on me, my stomach flips, and I curse myself. She leans forward, elbows on the table and her palms meet as she intertwines her fingers and rests her chin on them.
“I’m sure Alpha Viktor has an idea of why I’m here,” she says hinting at what happened near the border.
My brow furrows as I wonder if she knows what I know, what I felt. Beta Jake and my sister’s eyes both turn and land on me and I gulp and lean back. What do I say to that?
“Why don’t you start by telling us about your vision,” I tell her, ignoring the subject I think she’s trying to bring up.
“Tell us why you’re here,” Jamie demands.
