The message was from Mr. Night, who hadn't sent her any messages since she replied with "Let's talk in a few days."
She had thought he got bored after playing with her twice and decided to leave her alone.
But surprisingly, he had been so obedient, waiting patiently for days before contacting her again.
Luana was a bit stunned when she saw the words "Come to Nightfall" on the screen.
Although she was very well-behaved, her body really couldn't handle his mischief anymore.
After pondering for two minutes, she typed back, "I'm not feeling well these days. Can we wait a bit longer?"
As soon as she sent the message, he replied, "Did all that with Calvert mess up your body?"
Luana froze at the words.
How did he know about Calvert?
How did he know she was acquainted with him?
And why would he say she had been with Calvert so many times?
Luana suddenly remembered the night she stayed in Calvert's presidential suite, when Mr. Night had called her hundreds of times.
He must have seen her with Calvert, which was why he called her frantically.
Or perhaps he was constantly monitoring her, which was why he knew everything about her.
Either way, Luana found it quite terrifying.
She was in the open, while he was in the shadows. He could control and manipulate her with ease.
As Luana was thinking about how to get rid of him, another message came through.
"How many times have you been with Calvert?"
For some reason, Luana felt that he was asking this question to test how much he could accept about their encounters.
She thought for a moment and replied, "If my body is messed up, it means we've been together many times."
She figured Mr. Night must have been a bit jealous, otherwise he wouldn't have called her so many times.
With this reply, he would think she had been with Calvert many times and probably wouldn't want to touch her anymore.
After she sent the message, Mr. Night didn't reply.
It seemed she had guessed correctly. He did care.
Luana couldn't help but smile slightly, put away her phone, and hurried downstairs.
Clarissa had parked the car downstairs and was taking things out of the trunk.
"Clarissa!"
Luana quickly walked over and gave her a big hug from behind.
Clarissa turned around and smiled at Luana.
"Missed me?"
"Missed you!"
Luana said, acting coquettish. "I almost died missing you!"
Clarissa laughed and patted the hand that was hugging her waist. "Come on, we've only been apart for a few days. It's not that bad."
Luana smiled, let go of Clarissa, and asked, "Where are the gifts you brought for me?"
Clarissa turned around, pointed to the pile of things on the ground, and said, "There they are."
Luana was surprised at the mountain of stuff and looked at Clarissa.
"Why did you buy so much?"
"I rarely get to go abroad, so I figured I should spend a bit more," Clarissa replied.
"With all these things, you'll have to work a lot of night shifts to make it back..."
Luana felt a bit heartbroken for her.
Clarissa waved her hand dismissively. "They're just some skincare products and supplements. Not that expensive!"
She casually picked up a box of supplements and headed towards the elevator, calling back to Luana, "Stop daydreaming and help me get these upstairs."

Luana had no choice but to pick up some of the items and follow her.
Clarissa had bought so many things that the dining table was completely covered. It was as if she was afraid Luana wouldn't have enough.
Luana shook her head and sighed. Clarissa, on the other hand, opened the fridge to check if Luana had been eating properly.
Seeing that the fridge was empty, Clarissa didn't nag at Luana.
In fact, when Luana received the message that Clarissa was coming back, she had already thrown away all the spoiled food in the fridge.
Her current condition really made it hard for her to eat, which was why she had lost weight so quickly. Her weight plummeted dramatically.
Fortunately, she had changed into loose, baggy clothes, so Clarissa hadn't noticed anything unusual.
But she couldn't keep hiding it from Clarissa forever. Luana thought she would choose a good time to confess everything to Clarissa.
After Clarissa sorted the items on the dining table, she took out her phone and called Albert to ask when he would be back in town.
Albert was a filial son who had bought a lot of supplements for his family and had just driven back to deliver them.
After chatting with Albert for a few minutes, Clarissa told him, "Come over for dinner tonight," and hung up.
Seeing that she had ended the call, Luana asked, "Why didn't you go back to his hometown with him?"
Logically, newlyweds should go back together, so why did Albert go alone?
Clarissa put down her phone and said, "He said the environment back home isn't very good and told me not to go."
Actually, Clarissa didn't mind. She had grown up in an orphanage and had seen all kinds of environments.
Luana looked at Clarissa and asked, "You've never been to his hometown before, right?"
Clarissa nodded. "No, I originally planned to visit his parents before getting married, but we didn't get the chance. Instead, his parents came to the city to meet me, gave me a gift, and even helped us with the down payment for our wedding house, so I never went back."
