I never recalled losing control in the past.
As I sat on the bean bag, I sighed in annoyance at my embarrassing self. I couldn't help but face-palmed myself. No one has ever had such a devastating effect on me. I felt like my confidence went down the drain in his presence. I couldn't explain the bubbling that I was feeling in my stomach. I groaned at myself then relaxed myself in the bean bag. I slowly peaked him and squinted my eyes suspiciously when I see him settle on the couch. I quickly turned my attention to the lake.
The reflection of the moon on the water of the lake quickly calmed my nerves. My eyes moved to the bright full moon. There is something so attractive to it. I could spend hours looking at it. I wrapped my arms around myself. The moon has always been my source of energy. I could feel the tips of my fingers tingling. The trees seemed to be dancing to the sweet music of the light wind. They seemed to be begging for me to unleash my magic to dance through their leaves. It has been a while since I have let myself enjoy flowing my magic all over the place. Suddenly, it ached me. I wanted to see my purple glow glide through the trees.
I turned my head slightly to have a look at the man who was sitting inside. Xavier seemed very focus on the whatever was playing on the television. I sighed at the thought of him. I was not his type of girl. He was so close yet so out of reach. I was possibly invisible to him. I pushed myself off the bean bag and straightened my oversized shirt. With one last peak at Xavier, I started walking towards the little wooden bridge that separated the house and the woods.
It's not as if he even noticed my small presence.
I shrugged it off then walked deeper into the woods. The darkness was not frightening. On the contrary, the moon has its reassuring presence. I walked down a little path and soon found a small area that seemed big enough to do a picnic. With a smile, I turned around facing the moon. I couldn't help the excitement that was building inside of me. It felt like I needed this. The power inside of me wanted to unleash itself.
Stretch itself even.
"Princeps te" I whispered with close eyes, my hands by my side but my palms still facing the moon. A quick strong wind ran right through me. My smile grew bigger as I opened my eyes. My hair was flying all over my face as the purple glow flowed from my palms and twirled itself around me. It was so beautiful. It came getting bigger and bigger, slowly moving to the tree to envelop the branches and slowly gliding down each and every single leaves. I could feel myself slowly levitating. I closed my eyes again, opening my arms and appreciating this blissful moment. A feeling of warmth was invading my body. I felt like nothing could hurt me. I was making myself more powerful. My glow was taking all the energy I needed at the moment.
Crack!
I felt everything rushing back into me as my focus broke and I fell on the hard groan. My head quickly moved to the where the noise came. My mind was fuzzy. The amount of energy I have absorbed from the natural elements were strong for me. I came my eyes open, stayed on the ground and took a few deep breaths, still on my guards. If someone has seen me, shit would break loose. I gulped then quickly stand up.
The sound of running just next to me, quickly got me alert. My eyes widened. They were sound of paws. I quickly moved closer to the tree, trying to get a look at what it was. I tried to decipher their essence but I didn't recognize it. If it was a rogue, I was in deep shit. They were known for being torturous and deadly. They would kill without regrets.
"Shit" I breathed when I realized that they may have seen me. I could feel my heart thumping in my chest. With a deep breath, I tried to concentrate. I could try to teleport myself back to the house. I was scared of being attacked. "Lanuae" I whispered.
Crack!
I opened my eyes, my eyes quickly moving to the noise. Fuck. It didn't work. I wasn't concentrated enough. My mind started wandering to whether it was my father's cousin. Long story short, my father's cousin is a werewolf and his name is Grey Fortis. He was the only one who knew about our lineage of enchanters. He wanted to have us join his pack for his own benefits.
However, we refused. Grey didn't appreciate that and he told us that he would do anything in his power to have us with him, with or without our will. He had tried to attack us several times but then we moved. It has been five years since the last time I have seen him. I closed my eyes, shook my fear away and took a few deep breath.
"Lanuae" I breathed and felt a swoosh around. I quickly opened my eyes to see myself standing by the door of the house. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. I quickly turned my head to have a look at the couch. A frown formed on my face when I realized that Xavier was not there. He might have done to bed. I was relieved that he has not seen me. I stared at the woods. I was curious to know who it was. Who might have seen me? I wrapped my arms around myself then started making way to the door of the house. Just as I was about to reach the handle, I caught some movement on my right. I turned towards it and froze into place.
"Fancy seeing you"
