My heart was racing in my ribcage. I never felt like this towards any guy. I didn't know why I felt so awkwardly intimidated. I put my hand on Anthony's shoulder while making our way back to the house. It was weird not to know his name. I never bothered to ask Lena.
It would have been awkward if I did.
The muscular man was in the kitchen, waiting for Anthony to come. When we walked in, his back was facing us. He was filling a glass with water. When he heard the door close, he turned around to look at us. The only light that was helping me to see him, was the light from the moon. I could see the frown on his face when his eyes set on me. I gulped then stared at Anthony.
"What did I tell you about going outside?" I felt my inside tingle at the sound of his voice. What the hell was happening? I was extremely confused to why I was feeling this way. I have dated two guys in my entire life and they have never been able to make me get an ounce of feelings. They were short relationships that turned out into great friendships after breaking up.
"I was not alone" Anthony shrugged. I inhaled deeply, put on my tough courage coat on and smiled at the man who was affecting me just by being present in this huge kitchen.
"I'm Hazel, Lena's friend" I introduced myself. My voice came out so low and soft that it made me sound so vulnerable. His eyes moved from Anthony to me. I drunk in his perfect god-like features. He has a thin and well-trimmed beard. His eyes were dark. I couldn't really decipher which colors they were. He was wearing a white, tight hugging shirt. His muscles seemed to be begging to rip this piece of cloth.
"Xavier" my eyes widened at the sound of his melodic voice. It felt like God was blessing with a personal angel singing next to my ear.
Snap out of it!
Xavier's Point Of View
All my senses in me, was screaming that there was something happening close to me. My wolf was restless. The woman who was standing in front seemed to be everything but human.
Her tingling blue eyes were so piercing and intriguing that I found myself wondering more about her. Her auburn hair cascaded down her shoulder so effortlessly. She seemed nervous to look at me. I watched as her eyes moved from one object to another. She looked so vulnerable. I wondered what she was hiding behind that tint of innocence.
She was beautiful.
Hazel.
She was Lena's friend. I never saw her before. I am sure that I would have remembered such a flawless little creature. I inhaled deeply, trying to catch her scent.
She was definitely not a werewolf.
But she didn't smell like human either.
"I'm going to bed" Anthony yawned, breaking my trail of thoughts. My eyed quickly moved to my little cousin. Was I staring for too long? He gave Hazel a side hug. She seemed to be surprised by this act but a genuine smile spread on her face as she returned the hug. Anthony ran up the stairs, leaving me and that curious person.
"I-I",Hazel started while pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. Again, her eyes never met mine. "I am going to go" she finally sighed. I watched her in interest. She was intriguing. Everything in me, was screaming that there was something about her, that was off. There was something that she was hiding.
In plain site.
"What are you?" I asked her seriously. She rose her head up, her eyes met mine and she stood there frozen. She was intimidated. Soon, a frown crept on her face.
"What?" She asked, tilting her head slightly to the left. A dimple popped on the side of her cheek. My eyes unwillingly trailed down her body.
She was truly flawless.
I could feel my wolf lashing in my inner self. It was trying to take over. I inhaled deeply then switched my focus back to Hazel.
Beautiful Hazel.
She seemed to be still clueless by my question. Her eyes were scanning my face, looking at each and every single details. I couldn't help but notice how bright her eyes were. No human could possess such beautiful eyes.
"Nothing" I muttered. She blinked a few times before switching her attention back to me. She forced a smile on her face then awkwardly waved her hand at me before walking to the door. I frowned in confusion. "Where are you going?" I asked casually. She tripped over her own foot and quickly grabbed the handle of the door to stand up.
Clumsy.
"I am going to sit a little bit outside" she said softly. I stared at the clock and turned my attention back on her. Who was I to tell her what to do? I nodded then took a gulp of my water before placing the glass in the dishwasher. I turned around to see Hazel sitting in one of the bean bags on the patio. Her hands were on her forehead and she seemed to be muttering something to herself.
I turned off the television and made myself comfortable on the couch. I turned my head slightly to make sure that the stranger was in my eyesight. It was clearly stupid of her to be sitting outside at night by herself.
Who knows what kind of rogues come to this area?
It was unclaimed territory.
My eyes unconsciously drifted to Hazel. She was staring at the sky. Her fascination by the mood could be seen on her face. I wondered how old she was as my eyes scanned her features again.
She looked so young.
Yet, so mature.
Her pink lips were glistening because of the lip gloss she wore. Her eyes never left the moon. The little frown on her face showed that she had so many questions running in her head.
She was a pure mystery.
