The morning I was still asleep not realizing it was daylight. I was awakened by a sharp sound behind the door. I jumped up and ran to the stairs scenting it was another wolf outside.

Madison had heard the sound and came downstairs. I ran past her upstairs and stood at the corner of the stairs, so that no one could see me, frightened.

"It's okay, it's probably someone from the pack visiting me," said Madison softly.

My head slowly peeped at her from the corner of the stairs.

She smiled at me and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. She then went to open the door. As she did I quickly hid back in the corner of the stairs, seeing who it was here to see her.

It was the first wolf I had met the day I left the depth of the forest to hunt for a meal. He was the one who caught me and the one who knocked me out and made me unconscious. I remembered his name. I'll never forget it. His name was Alaric.

"Alaric, what are you doing here?" asked Madison curiously.

"Good morning, Ms. Madison, alpha Deucalion sent me," he retorted.

"For what?" asked Madison.

"What is that scent!" I heard Alaric say loudly. "It smelled like a rotten body in here."

He then apologized to Madison for his remark. I realized at that moment that I really needed to take a bath quickly.

"Tell my nephew I'm not in any harm and I don't need anyone to check up on me," Madison had discovered why he was here.

"The alpha is very protective of you Ms. Madison and he fears the scoundrel you have here could be dangerous to you," said Alaric.

I heard the door slam.

"Go away Alaric and tell your alpha I'm fine!" Madison shouted.

"Ms. Madison," Alaric kept on calling until I no longer heard him.

"It's okay, Rain, you don't have to be scared anymore, you can come out," said Mandy with the softest voice to me.

I slowly walked from the corner of the stairs and paused at the front of the stairs.

Madison's face made in disgust and her head turned away.

"I'm sorry, I'm trying hard to bear your scent," she said. "I didn't mean in anyways to make you feel bad.

"It's okay," I told her.

"I'm going to get you something to eat and then we can plan on what you'll like to do, so, you can see here is a safer place for you."

My head lowered, not interested in anything she had in plan.

"Rain," she called.

My head moved back to her.

"If you don't feel the need to do anything, I don't want to force you to do anything," she said.

I nodded.

"I'm going to prepare you something to eat," she said.

I again nodded and watched her as she left. Within her eyes, I could see disappointment.

I went to lay back at the door while she prepare something to eat in the kitchen.

"Rain," Madison called after she was through.

I ran to meet her in the dining room.

My meal and a bowl of water were already on the floor beside her table waiting on me.

"I looked at the strange meal on the plate."

It's scramble egg and chicken sausage," she told me.

I sniffed it. It smelled good. I tasted the egg. I didn't like it but the sausage was tasty. My mouth was watery from eating it. Madison gave me two more from her plate and I drink it down with my water. After I was through I went back to the door and lay down.

"It's so sad to see you in this state," Madison looked down at me.

My eyes lowered to the floor.

"It's like you're more of a wolf than your human form."

"What had happened to you?" she asked.

I whimpered and my head turned away from her with tears not wanting to say anything.

"I'm sorry Rain. I hope you being here would be nothing but happiness."

I again whimpered.

She gently ran her hand on my forehead.

"I hate that I will have to leave you, but I promise I won't take too long," I heard her.

My head went to hers right away.

"The kitchen is empty and the only food item I have in the house is sugar and salt," she said. "Sugar to make things sweet and salt for flavor," she explained what the two remaining items were.

I stood hating that I will have to be alone in a strange home.

"I know you'll be scared being here alone but I promise I will shop quickly." "You can lock yourself in the spare room if you want, just to feel safe, and also you don't have to worry about anyone coming here," she assured me.

I nodded.

Madison rubbed my head. My eyes closed comforted by her touch. She then went into the kitchen and I watched worriedly. She returned with a bag in her arm.

"I promise I won't take too long. I know everything I'll need, so, I'll be out of the food store in no time."

Madison said her goodbyes and closed the door behind me. I listened as she hurriedly ran off.

I whimpered sadly as she did, scared of being alone in her home. I looked upstairs and laid back down at the door anxiously waiting on her to return.

I soon felt tired of laying down and so I walked into her living room. I looked at the furniture, ornaments, and decorations. I knew a few of the items that Madison had told me about but most of them I didn't. Admiring the beauty of the living room I couldn't help to wonder if my life would have been like this if The Grey Pack haven't attacked and put an end to my pack. I went over to the image of a baby on the wall with a small amount of blonde hair, and green eyes. She looked weird.

Was that how I looked as a baby too? I admired the image.

I went close to it.

"Madison!"

My body jumped at the voice outside the house.

"Madison opened the door, now, or I'll help myself in!" I again heard the voice.

My entire body shivered knowing who the angry voice was. It was the alpha. If he knows I'm alone. He'll kill me for sure.
