After the long conversation Madison and I had. Inside became very silent.
I watched her from the entrance of the kitchen as she prepared dinner. The scent of the delicious meal she was preparing I was dying to start eating.
Madison was not in a good mood recollecting her mate. I felt it for her. I could see the sadness in her eyes. She smiled a couple of times at me seeing I was watching her, but her smile didn't feel genuine. It felt forced. It didn't give me a warm feeling whenever she would smile at me.
I heard the front door knock and I ran over to Madison fearing it was her nephew, the cruel alpha.
"It's okay," she tried to calm me.
She gently touched the right side of my face and went to the door. I followed her and hid behind a wall where no one could see me except for her.
The door opened and I saw it was Alaric. I moved from my hidden place knowing he wouldn't try to hurt me just like his alpha. I was soon stunned by what was in both of his hands.
His eyes met mine, giving me a pleasant feeling, and then back to Madison.
"I thought I would come here and apologize for what my alpha did?" said Alaric.
"This is for you, Rain," he said as his eyes went back to mine.
I hurriedly went to take the items he had bought for me, another blue balloon and the lollipop the alpha had destroyed.
"Thank you," I acknowledged him with a smile.
He smiled back at me.
Madison observed the items Alaric had kindly bought back for me, within her eyes I could see she was not pleased.
"Was the alpha who told you to apologize?" asked Madison gravely.
"No, I just feel the need to, for Rain doesn't deserve what he has done to her."
"If this apology isn't from the alpha, Rain doesn't need these," Madison grabbed the stuff he had bought from my hand and threw them at him.
"No," I cried out.
Madison hand-blocked me from the door. I looked at Alaric sadly.
"You were never nice to her when she was in her wolf form, but I guess after you somehow saw her human form, your attitude just change. Stay away from her or I will claw at your throat," Madison threatened him and slammed the door in his face.
"No, Madison, why are being so mean?" I asked disappointed by her action.
"I've been in this world far longer than you, Rain, and I know when a wolf is only acting nice just to get between your thigh," Madison said as she walked straight into the kitchen.
I watched her. Though the alpha was very cruel and Madison was very kind, the way she had treated Alaric after he had bought back the lollipop and the balloon the alpha had smashed right before my eyes she and the alpha had something in common and that was their uncontrollable temper.
I returned to the kitchen and stood at her side while she washed the bowls she had used.
She paused and turn to me as I did, feeling sorry about her actions.
"I didn't mean to upset you in any way, Rain. I'm only looking out for you,"
I nodded.
"What do you mean, get between my thigh?" I asked not understanding.
She dried her hands and led me to the dining room where we sat side by side.
"Do you know how babies are born?" she asked.
"No," I retorted quickly.
My grandmother never told me how wolves were born. She wasn't a talker and so I thought for myself that perhaps when a mother wolf and a father wolf come together, a baby wolf appeared when they both wished for one.
Yet again Madison was surprised about my lack of knowledge.
"You will tell me won't you?" I asked eagerly.
"Of course, I will, for tomorrow's night the full moon will mostly focus on that."
I was again nervous.
"When I said that Alaric was only interested in getting between your thigh, I meant your vagina," explained Madison.
I know what was a vagina, but I was clueless about how one could come about to get into my vagina. Wouldn't that be dangerous and painful for me?
I jumped up, frightened at the notion of one of Alaric's full hands entering my vagina. I could die.
"No!" I shouted as I covered both ears not wanting to hear any more of what Madison had to say.
"Calm down, Rain."
Madison took me by both arms and placed me back into my seat.
"I don't want Alaric or anyone to put their hand into my vagina, he could tear me apart, and I would die," tears filled my eyes.
Tears stop flooding my eyes as I saw Madison laughing. Her back lowered into her chair and her arms wrapped around her body as if she was dying of laughter.
"What did I say to make you laugh?" I asked confused as I studied her behaviour.
Madison tried talking but her laughter stopped her every time.
I was becoming annoyed by her strange behaviour. Madison saw and her face turned into a grave look, ready to explain.
"I'm sorry," she first apologized.
I nodded.
"What you think about a male getting between your thigh, is all wrong," she said.
"Then how then?" I asked impatiently.
"A female has a vagina and a male has a penis," explained Madison. Those body parts are our reproductive system and are not only used for urinating. It is also used for having sex, and that's how you came along Rain. Through sex.
I stared at her confused.
"Your dad enter your mom with his reproductive part that's how he got her pregnant," Madison concluded.
My head lowered staring at my dress covering my legs as if I could see my productive part.
"Was my mom in pain when it happened?" I had to know.
"Through pregnant yes," answered Madison. "Pain is a part of giving life and it's a beautiful thing I would happy to do again." Madison smiled.
I understand what Madison meant even though giving birth seemed to be painful. My grandmother told me how my mom was so happy when she gave birth to me.
"Also sex?" I asked.
"It can be during your first time but once you get used to it, you'll be okay."
I nodded and thank Madison for her answers.
She held one of my hands.
"I really don't think you're ready for a mate," said Madison.
"If he can protect me from my enemy, I'll be okay," I told her not wanting her to be worried. Of course, I was too and very nervous, but she had said it was not our choice to have a mate or not, but the moon goddess. If she has given me a mate tomorrow night, I guess I am ready.
Madison looked at me sadly and held my hand firmly in her hand as if she didn't want to let me go.
"Rain, I now take you as my daughter," said Madison.
I smiled at her.
"I just don't want you to get hurt anymore," she concluded.
"Yes," I retorted.
"I know you're now very interested in finding your mate because you feel the need for someone strong to protect you," said Madison. "But I fear you are not ready any at all, of what goes on in a relationship."
"You can teach me," I told her with a bright smile.
She looked at me sadly.
Her pot was boiling over. Madison ran into the kitchen.
As she did I walked to the front door to leave the house for some fresh air. I opened the door and I spotted the items Alaric had bought for me. He had left them on one of the chairs outside instead of bringing them back with him. I gazed at the items wanting to take them. I loved the light feeling of the balloon in my hand and the taste of the lollipop. Recollecting the taste made my mouth water. I quickly took them and slowly opened the door peeking inside to see if Madison had missed me. She was still in the kitchen. Quickly, I took the items secretly to my room. I locked the door behind me as I did. As I was about to unwrap the lollipop a cool breeze came through the open window and I went to close it. I froze as I spotted Alaric moving from behind a tree, seeing me. He gave me a friendly smile. I lowered myself and hid from him, holding the lollipop before me.
Was Alaric hiding behind the tree because of me?
He was now giving me a strange uncomfortable feeling in my gut.
